We are looking for a strategic and experienced Senior Actuarial Manager / Actuarial Associate Director to lead and oversee key actuarial functions, including business-as-usual (BAU) reporting, annual financial planning, and the local implementation of IFRS 17. This role requires strong leadership, critical thinking, and communication skills to ensure the accuracy, relevance, and impact of actuarial outputs. The successful candidate will also drive ad hoc projects and mentor junior team members, contributing to the overall actuarial strategy and execution.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Lead and oversee actuarial reporting activities, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with internal and external standards.
  • Drive the annual financial planning process, providing actuarial insights and strategic input.
  • Lead the IFRS 17 implementation project for local adoption, including methodology development, stakeholder engagement, and system integration.
  • Review and challenge actuarial models, assumptions, and outputs to ensure robustness and relevance.
  • Manage and support ad hoc actuarial projects, including product development, experience analysis, and strategic initiatives.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior actuarial staff, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate effectively with Finance, Risk, IT, and other key stakeholders to align actuarial deliverables with business objectives.
  • Communicate complex actuarial concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field.
  • At least 8 years of actuarial experience in life insurance is preferred.
  • Proven analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to gather, synthesize, organize, and report information, results, and recommendations to various levels across the organization.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate across functions.
  • Strong ability to establish priorities and manage multiple tasks with accuracy and attention to detail, for self and others.
  • Proficiency in actuarial software (e.g., Prophet, AXIS) and data tools (e.g., Excel, SQL, Python/R is a plus).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Near fellowship or attained fellowship with an internationally recognized actuarial body (e.g., SOA, IFoA, etc.).
  • Proven leadership experience and ability to manage and develop actuarial talent.
