Logistics Coordinator
The Logistics Coordinator is responsible for supporting the efficient execution of day-to-day logistics operations for PIL HVAC. This role ensures timely and accurate coordination of shipments, effective communication with carriers and internal teams, and continuous improvement of logistics processes. The Logistics Coordinator contributes directly to service reliability, cost control, and customer satisfaction, and report to Logistics Supervisor.
The successful candidate's responsibilities will include:
• Plan, schedule, and coordinate shipments to meet customer and business requirements.
• Communicate with carriers, freight forwarders, and internal stakeholders to ensure timely pickup and delivery.
• Monitor, track, and trace shipments; proactively resolve service issues or delays.
• Maintain accurate shipment records, documentation, and data within ERP and logistics systems.
• Prepare and distribute transportation reports and performance metrics.
• Collaborate with operations, customer service, and finance teams to support logistics requirements.
• Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance service performance.
The Ideal Candidate for this position will have:
• Timely and accurate execution of shipment planning and coordination.
• Effective issue resolution and strong communication across teams and carriers.
• Data accuracy and reporting integrity to support decision-making.
• Contribution to process improvements and operational efficiency.
Incumbent Experience Required (Must Know)
• Strong knowledge of transportation and logistics operations (LTL/TL, domestic and international).
• Familiarity with customs, trade compliance, and shipping documentation.
• Proficiency in logistics systems, ERP, and transportation management software.
• Understanding of freight rating, scheduling, and carrier service standards.
Incumbent Personal Characteristics (Must Be)
• Organized with strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Proactive, adaptable, and able to perform under pressure.
• Strong communicator and collaborative team player.
• Customer-focused, reliable, and accountable.
Education (or Equivalent)
• Post-secondary education in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or related field.
• Professional certifications (e.g., CITT, SCMP, APICS/ASCM) considered an asset.
• Equivalent combination of education and practical logistics/transportation experience will be accepted.
