About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Data Engineer II to join our data engineering team. This role will be pivotal in designing, building, and optimizing scalable data pipelines and analytics solutions using the Databricks platform. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to enable data-driven decision-making and support advanced analytics and machine learning initiatives.

Key Responsibilities
• Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines using Apache Spark on Databricks.
• Implement ETL/ELT processes to ingest, transform, and load data from various sources (structured and unstructured).
• Optimize data workflows for performance, reliability, and scalability.
• Collaborate with data scientists, analysts, and business stakeholders to understand data requirements and deliver solutions.
• Ensure data quality, governance, and security across all pipelines and datasets.
• Develop reusable components, frameworks, and libraries to accelerate development.
• Monitor and troubleshoot production data pipelines and workflows.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to best practices in data engineering.

Required Qualifications
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
• 5+ years of experience in data engineering, with at least 2 years working with Databricks.
• Strong proficiency in Apache Spark, PySpark, and SQL.
• Experience with cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS, or GCP (preferably Azure Databricks).
• Solid understanding of data modeling, data warehousing, and big data architectures.
• Familiarity with Delta Lake, Unity Catalog, and MLflow is a plus.
• Experience with CI/CD tools and practices for data pipelines.
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.

Preferred Skills
• Experience with real-time data processing (e.g., Kafka, Spark Streaming).
• Knowledge of data governance and privacy regulations (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA).
• Exposure to machine learning workflows and collaboration with data science teams.
• Familiarity with tools like Airflow or Terraform.
