JOB OVERVIEW:
The Chief Information Technology Officer (CITO) is responsible for shaping and executing the enterprise-wide technology strategy to enable digital transformation, operational excellence, and competitive advantage. As a member of the senior leadership team, the CITO provides strategic vision, governance, and oversight of IT systems, infrastructure, and innovation. This role drives business value by ensuring alignment of technology initiatives with corporate objectives, fostering a culture of innovation, and safeguarding the organization’s digital ecosystem.
- JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- 1. IT Strategy and Leadership
- Develop and lead the company’s enterprise-wide IT strategy, ensuring alignment with evolving business goals and digital transformation objectives.
- Oversee the architecture, development, and deployment of scalable, secure, and innovative technology solutions that enhance business performance and enterprise trust.
- Champion emerging technologies (e.g., AI/ML, edge computing, quantum computing, blockchain) to maintain competitive advantage.
- Serve as a strategic advisor to the GCOO and executive leadership on technology trends, risks, and opportunities.
- Establish and maintain a future-ready portfolio of IT systems and services, ensuring agility and resilience.
- 2. IT Governance and Operations• Lead the IT function in designing, managing, and maintaining robust IT systems, networks, and infrastructure to support global business operations.• Implement governance frameworks that ensure cybersecurity, data privacy, and compliance with local, regional and international regulatory standards (e.g., GDPR, ISO 27001).• Manage IT budgets and resources to deliver cost-effective, high-impact technology solutions.• Oversee enterprise architecture to ensure integration, scalability, and alignment with business strategy.• Govern multi-sourced vendor environments, including infrastructure, cloud services, and managed service providers.
- 3. Solutions Delivery and Change Management• Collaborate with business stakeholders to define and validate enterprise architecture and system requirements for new technology implementations.• Lead the delivery of IT and cross-functional projects, ensuring timely execution and alignment with strategic goals.• Evaluate and negotiate technology contracts, ensuring compliance with best practices and regulatory requirements.• Define and communicate corporate IT policies, standards, and governance for system acquisition and operations.
- 4. Technology & Data Innovation • Pilot and scale emerging technologies to drive digital transformation and operational efficiency.• Develop business cases and success metrics for technology innovation initiatives.• Redefine business operating models through automation, AI, IoT, and data-driven decision-making.• Lead enterprise-wide digital transformation programs, leveraging advanced analytics, intelligent automation, and cloud-native solutions.• Define and execute a multi-year roadmap for data innovation, governance, and monetization.• Establish a comprehensive data privacy and protection program to ensure ethical and compliant data usage
- 5. IT Risk Management and Security• Collaborate with the Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) to maintain a robust cybersecurity posture across the organization.• Ensure compliance with global security regulations and data privacy laws.• Implement proactive risk management frameworks to identify, assess, and mitigate technology risks.
- 6. Vendor and Stakeholder Management• Build strategic partnerships with technology vendors and service providers to deliver value and innovation.• Engage internal stakeholders to understand business needs and deliver tailored technology solutions.• Oversee IT procurement and vendor performance to ensure quality, scalability, and cost efficiency.
- 7. Team Leadership and Development• Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing, diverse IT team with a focus on innovation, agility, and continuous learning.• Build cross-functional teams for product development, infrastructure, and enterprise solutions.• Promote a culture of excellence through professional development, succession planning, and inclusive leadership.
- EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field
- Minimum 15 years of progressive IT leadership, with at least 5 years in a senior executive role
- Proven record of leading enterprise-wide digital transformation initiatives
- Experience managing global IT operations and complex vendor ecosystems
- ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENT:
- As a regulated entity with obligations under the Know Your Employee guidelines, a Certificate of Character is required.
