With the rapid adoption of Generative AI (GenAI) and advanced AI/ML technologies, the Company is expanding its ability to identify, assess, and govern AI-related risks across platforms, products, and lines of business.

This role represents a critical First Line of Defense (1LOD) leadership investment to execute AI risk assurance frameworks, perform deep reviews of AI use cases, and embed risk-informed controls into business and technology operations. The Sr. Manager will partner closely with Technology, Information Security, Enterprise Platforms, and 2nd Line Risk Management, while actively engaging with senior leadership, risk committees, and governance councils.

Responsibilities:

  • Assurance Framework & Execution
  • Lead the execution of the 1LOD AI Risk Assurance Framework, ensuring consistent assessment and monitoring of AI-related risks across the enterprise.
  • Design, execute, and continuously refine review processes for AI use cases, ensuring alignment with enterprise ORM/ERM taxonomy.
  • Provide structured risk assurance reporting into governance bodies, risk committees, and senior leadership forums.
  • Ai Risk Assessments

  • Conduct deep reviews of AI/GenAI platforms, models, and use cases to evaluate risks spanning security, privacy, bias, resilience, regulatory, and ethical dimensions.
  • Lead structured risk assessment activities, ensuring documented findings and mitigation strategies are integrated into business decision-making.
  • Partner with model developers and business owners to ensure secure-by-design implementation of AI capabilities.
  • Control Design, Monitoring & Testing
  • Embed 1LOD controls into AI processes, including prompt management, hallucination monitoring, bias detection, API security, and data protection.
  • Oversee AI control testing, monitoring, and metrics (KRIs, KPIs), reporting against enterprise risk appetite and tolerance thresholds.
  • Ensure incidents, exceptions, and remediation activities are managed within enterprise issue management systems.
  • Committee & Governance Engagement
  • Serve as the primary 1LOD AI Risk representative across governance councils and forums, presenting risk posture, assurance results, and key insights.
  • Provide clear risk narratives and evidence to regulatory bodies, auditors, and executive-level committees.
  • Influence enterprise AI policy and standards by translating assurance insights into actionable recommendations.
  • Collaboration & Influence

  • Partner with AI Enablement stakeholders (Enterprise Cloud Platforms, GenAI Architecture, Model Risk, Cyber Risk, Enterprise Data Protection) to ensure cohesive AI risk management practices.
  • Work closely with Third-Party Risk Management to validate AI provider adherence to enterprise requirements.
  • Drive awareness and education efforts across business and technology teams to strengthen AI risk culture.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of experience in technology risk, information security, or enterprise risk management, with hands-on exposure to AI/ML platforms.
  • Proven experience executing 1LOD risk assurance frameworks and performing deep-dive risk assessments in complex technology environments.
  • Strong knowledge of risk and security frameworks (NIST CSF, ISO 27001, ISO 31000, COSO, FFIEC).
  • Familiarity with cloud-native architectures (AWS, Azure, GCP) and risks related to LLM/GenAI adoption.
  • Exceptional ability to articulate AI risk issues in business and regulatory terms for senior and executive stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated leadership and influence in cross-functional, high-stakes settings.
  • Experience in financial services, healthcare, or other highly regulated industries.
  • Familiarity with GRC platforms (Archer, ServiceNow, MetricStream).
  • Professional certifications such as CISSP, CRISC, CISM, or CISA.
  • Advanced degree in Information Security, Risk Management, Data Science, or a related discipline.
  • Salary Range: $123,000.00 to $215,250.00 annually + bonus + benefits
  • Demonstrated leadership and influence in cross-functional, high-stakes settings.
  • Experience in financial services, healthcare, or other highly regulated industries.
