Introduction:

The Aga Khan University was founded in 1983 as Pakistan’s first private university, Aga Khan University is a not-for-profit institution and an agency of the Aga Khan Development Network. Starting in 2000, the University expanded to Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, United Kingdom and Afghanistan. AKU began life as a health-sciences university.

The Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology is the academic department of the University to support wide range in-patient and outpatient women’s healthcare services pertinent to general obstetrics and gynaeoclogy, lactation consultancy, family planning and parenting education. In addition to the core services, department also caters to wide range of specialized services such as Maternal Fetal Medicine, Gynecologic Oncology, Urogyneoclogy and Pediatrics & Adolescent gynaeoclogy. The department also offers formal post graduate training programs of residency and fellowship in Maternal and Fetal Medicine, Urogynecology and Gynecologic Oncology.

Early Childhood Development is one of the most crucial phases of human life span development. ECD PREP at the Department of ObGyn works on multifaceted projects to scale ECD i.e. clinical services, workforce development, research and advocacy. This project is focused on working closely under the supervision of the lead ECD PREP on conducting various early years learning research and desk review. The following position aims at having an incumbent with experience in ECD preferably in educational settings.

Note: This is a contractual position with a duration of six months.

Job Role / Responsibilities:

You Will Be Responsible To:

• conduct a desk review of the early years education framework
• co facilitate the educational activities and manual development with the principal investigator
• develop resources for young children and their caregivers
• design educational games for young children and their caregivers

Eligibility Criteria /Requirements:

You Should Have:

• at least a graduate degree but preference will be given to candidates with B.Ed/M.Ed or ECCE/ECD certificates and diplomas
• at least 3 years of early years teaching experience and curriculum designing 
• proficiency in MS Office
• excellent command over English
