Introduction

The Centre of Excellence in Women and Child Health aims to support the introduction, scale-up and further piloting of high quality and high impact interventions to improve Maternal, Newborn, Child and Adolescent Health (MNCAH) in Pakistan by harnessing the potential of both public and private sectors, coupled with introduction of women and girls empowerment intervention. UeN has two major components; one is to introduce proven effective MNCAH interventions at scale in 14 districts and the second is to  generate evidence through innovative approaches to improve MNCAH while included in the public health programme in Pakistan. Of the five innovation projects, one aims to measure the Men Engagement in Women Empowerment (MEWE) through Life Skills Building (LSB) and cash transfer to improve maternal mental health in Pakistan.

This is a grant-funded contractual position.
 

Responsibilities

Your will be responsible be responsible for the supervision of overall quality control and assurance of data for all field sites and will be the contact person for all the data related queries. Specific responsibilities include:

• Build scalable, highly reliable products for native and hybrid applications, i.e., mobile (Android);
• ensure privacy, security and  conduct penetration testing of apps;
• write clean, efficient and maintainable code;
• follow coding standard and best practice;
• conduct android development, analyze complex problems and optimize performance with best suited innovative practices respectively;
• design, develop and maintain local database structures and transactions;
• identify and resolve  a variety of challenges using problem-solving and analytical skills;
• interact with cross functional teams to produce Mutually beneficial solutions;
• remove redundant complex production issues; 
• propose innovative ideas for improvement and contribute to the growth of Android development;
• maintain high quality and functional android application;
• estimate engineering efforts and propose realistic schedules;
• perform all other duties assigned by the Supervisor;
• stay updated with the latest Android development trends, frameworks, and best practices through self-learning;
• stay updated with the latest security best practices in Android applications.

Requirements

You Should Have:

• BS/MS in Computer Science or related field;
• certification programs in mobile App development (Preferably);
• 3-4 years  of related work experience preferably with Research institute;
• good interpersonal and communication skills;
• excellent Computers and Management skills;
• able to use Java, Kotlin in programming;
• able to participate in testing activities;
• ability to conduct unit and integration testing;
• able to maintain documentation of coding standards;
• willing to travel to field sites outside Karachi if required;
• excellent Team Player.
