Job Description

Community Development Analyst

The Office of Housing Support within the Ohio Department of Development is presently hiring for a Community Development Analyst to contribute to a team of dedicated individuals who share a passion for supporting Ohio communities in their mission to increase affordable housing.

What You’Ll Be Doing:

  • Provide excellent customer service and technical assistance to grantees, local officials, and community stakeholders. 
  • Support applicants with project design, eligibility, compliance, funding options, and application preparation. 
  • Monitor grant recipients for compliance with state and federal regulations through site visits, file reviews, and reports.
  • Prepare compliance reports, recommend corrective actions, and follow up to ensure resolution. 
  • Manage the application process, including guidelines, scoring, reviews, feedback, and recommendations. 
  • Conduct research, gather stakeholder input, and analyze data to inform policy and program development. 
  • Represent the department in a professional, collaborative, and customer-focused manner. 
  • Travel as required, may include overnight stays.

Qualifications

36 months experience in planning, developing and/or implementing community and/or economic development programs. Must be able to provide own transportation. 

-Or completion of an undergraduate core program in business administration, public administration, city and regional planning, sociology, social services or political science; 12 months experience in planning, developing and/or implementing community and/or economic development programs. Must be able to provide own transportation.
