As a Trade & Working Capital Operations Transaction Control Manager in Global Trade Operations, you will manage complex trade transactions, and drive risk mitigation strategies. Your expertise will help safeguard the firm and its clients, while advancing diversity, equity, and inclusion. You’ll collaborate with internal partners and external clients, influence industry standards, and champion change in trade finance.
Job Responsibilities
- Build a transparent performance management culture based on meritocracy, communication, and feedback.
- Engage, motivate, and influence peers to enhance employee engagement and retention.
- Promote and grow DE&I values within the team.
- Advise internal partners and external clients on transaction escalations related to risk drivers such as sanctions, money laundering, boycott, export control, fraud, and complex terms.
- Provide technical consulting on problem trade transactions and new business opportunities, recommending risk mitigation strategies.
- Identify, measure, control, and monitor Global Trade transaction risk for internal and external clients.
- Interface with and influence partners in Product, Compliance, Risk, Legal, and Audit.
- Create and deliver Trade training programs, including CDCS certification and targeted regulatory compliance training.
- Represent JPMorgan Global Trade in industry groups and forums.
- Interact directly with regulators during exams, reviews, and ad-hoc requests.
- Advise on trade transformation projects, including digitization and automation.
Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills
- Extensive knowledge of trade products: commercial and standby letters of credit, documentary collections, bank reimbursements, supply chain finance, trade loans, open account, etc.
- Expert knowledge of ICC Rules (UCPDC, ISBP, URC, ISP, URR) and SWIFT rules for 400/700 series messages.
- Deep understanding of U.S. regulations: BSA/AML, OFAC, Anti-Boycott, Export Controls.
- Detail-oriented with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Confident in risk-based decision making and timely escalation to senior management.
- High work ethics and integrity.
- Ability to analyze processes, identify improvements, and influence change.
- Skilled at managing multiple tasks/projects with competing deadlines, and having ability to operate in a complex, high-pressure, highly regulated environment.
- Comfortable working in a global team and as an individual contributor.
- Bachelor’s degree or higher.
- Minimum 10 years of experience in trade, risk, compliance, or audit.
Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills
- CDCS certification
- CAMS certification
- Experience in trade product digitization or automation
