Within the broader Consumer and Community Banking (CCB) Data & Analytics team, the Consumer Bank(CB) Customer Analytics team is responsible for understanding our existing customers’ behavior, financial goals, product preferences, and cross-channel interactions through advanced analytics (e.g., Machine Learning, AI). While our team primarily focuses on our deposit and investment clients, we frequently work with partners from across other lines of business (e.g., Card, Home Lending, Business Banking, Private Banking).

Job Summary:
As the Lead Data Scientist within the Commercial Banking Customer Analytics team you will drive the analytics roadmap, deliver deep-dive analyses, and lead major cross-functional initiatives that transform the business. You have a combination of technical expertise with strategic vision, excel at problem-solving, and communicates\ data-driven insights that influence decisions at all levels. Recent projects include customer segmentation, attrition mitigation, channel usage forecasting, and competitive risk analysis using funds transfer data.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Define and drive our analytic agenda, finding and prioritizing the most impactful opportunities to improve our business and customer experience
  • Work with our team of data scientists to develop comprehensive analytic plans and execute on analytic projects
  • Work with cross-functional partners to establish new operating models, establish new solutions, and drive organizational change 
  • Innovate using data driven insights, screen, and work with external vendors who can provide data we do not have access to internally to improve our analytic capabilities including piloting/developing proofs of concept.

Required Qualifications, Capabilities, And Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree with 7+ years of experience or a Master’s degree with 5+ years of experience or PhD in a relevant quantitative field.
  • 5+ years of experience working with analytics
  • 5+ years of experience with snowflake SQL for querying large data warehouses, and proficiency with at least one of the following analytical tools: Python, R, or SPARK
  • 3+ years of experience in strategy, management consulting, or similar skillset
  • Experience implementing supervised and unsupervised machine learning methods
  • Experience with visualization techniques for data analysis and presentation
  • Passion for problem-solving. Must be able to think outside the box to implement creative solutions that solve business problems
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills with the ability to turn complex data into concise client-friendly findings and recommendations
  • Self-starter who works independently and has the motor to drive change across the organization
  • Ability to collaborate effectively in cross-functional teams
  • Proven ability to work in a fast paced environment, meet deadlines, and manage projects. Can stay organized and deliver at a high level while juggling a large book of work

Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities And Skills:

  • Track record of successful stakeholder engagement and change management.
  • Recognized as a thought leader, with experience driving strategic initiatives and innovation.
  • Experience designing and executing various testing frameworks to measure business impact 
  • Experience with ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes and tools for managing and integrating large datasets
  • Experience with artificial intelligence (AI) techniques and applications (nice to have)
  • Financial services experience 
  • Tableau preferred
