Job Title: Supply Chain Security Manager (Edgewing)

Location: Reading area. The role could be contracted to any BAE Systems site (preferably Frimley) but on commencement will immediately be assigned to our Edgewing JV in the Reading area. A financial support package may be available to enable this assignment if required, dependent on certain criteria being met. Due to the nature of this assignment, we envisage there will be a need for mostly on site working, however, flexible working arrangements may be possible – please speak to your recruiter about the options for this role.

What you’ll be doing

• Set up an initial Supply Chain Security capability to ensure suitable standards, contractual and regulatory needs are met
• Design, develop and prove a next generation approach to supply chain security. Focused on supply chain enablement, threat awareness, supplier criticality decision making and enhanced security standards throughout the global supply chain
• Identifying and exploiting cutting edge technologies, security concepts and partnerships (commercial and government) to drive cost effective, highly effective and scalable solutions
• Lead the delivery programme to bring into service this next generation supply chain security capability
• Leading and running the supply chain security team’s day to day operational output
• Act as the primary integration point with legal and commercial for seamless business operations

Your skills and experiences

Essential

• A skilled influencer with exceptional stakeholder management experience, able to engage senior leaders across functions and geographies. Inside Edgewing, suppliers, government and partners
• Proven experience in global supply chain security, or related adjacent domains, ideally gained in complex or multinational environments
• A programme management mindset – comfortable structuring, leading, and delivering large-scale initiatives across diverse stakeholders
• A strategic thought leader on this topic with the drive and ambitious to deliver a generational change to how supply chain security is done in defence programmes whilst also pragmatically delivering tactical operations to enable business operations ahead of new solutions
• Experience using risk driven frameworks for decision making and prioritisation
• Experience shaping, negotiating and delivering security policies and strategies that meet today’s standards while anticipating future needs
• A track record of embedding new technologies and modern approaches into supply chain operations, driving resilience and innovation.
• Experience managing budget / commercial contracts with service providers
• An inclusive leader who can enable an international team to be greater than the sum of its parts

The Edgewing Security Product and Supply Chain team

You will be joining a highly motivated, experienced team within the BAE Systems Air sector, committed to the delivery and progression of a Future Combat Air System (FCAS) for the UK. You will play a central role in working across a diverse stakeholder group of functional and delivery teams including tri national industry and government colleagues from across our partner nations to support the delivery of the Global Combat Air Programme (GCAP).
