Summary of Performance Expectations

Evaluates patients referred for speech and/or language deficits and disorders. Plans and implements treatment. Coordinates care with family and other care providers. Responsible for the routine operational activities of the service.

Education and Credentials:
Required:
  • Master’s degree in Speech/Language.
  • Pathology Current license or license eligibility as a Speech/Language Pathologist in NC. If license eligible, NC license must be obtained prior to employment date.
  • Must complete a clinical fellowship year (CFY-SLP) of a minimum of 1,260 hours within the first 36 weeks of employment date.
  • Obtain certificate of clinical competence (CCC-SLP) after completion of clinical fellowship. BCLS for healthcare providers or completion of BCLS from the American Heart Association within three months of employment date.
Preferred:
Certification in Surgical Technology.

Work Experience:
Required:
No previous experience required. Given training and on-the-job experience, incumbent should be proficient in the basic aspects of the job within three months of employment date.

Preferred:
One year previous experience preferred.
