We have an excellent opportunity for a full time Learning & Development Partner II (Instructional Design Focus) in the HR department in Irvine, CA. This role will focus on Instructional Design, and will help create microvideos, elearning modules, quick reference guides, PowerPoint presentations, handouts, and DAP quick tips and process guides. This Associate will report to the Talent & OD Department Manager, and is primarily responsible for developing a variety of multimedia resources to support self-paced and instructor-led learning experiences.

In-N-Out Burger plans to bring its west coast headquarters team back together under one roof by the end of 2029. After maintaining two Southern California office locations for many years, the company will permanently close its Irvine office in 2029 and once again headquarter the company’s western territory solely in Baldwin Park, California, where the company was founded in 1948.
Newly hired Associates in Irvine will be eligible to participate in the group move to Tennessee with relocation assistance, or work from our western headquarters in Baldwin Park, CA, upon its opening in 2029. This Associate will report to the Talent & OD Department Manager, and is primarily responsible for developing a variety of multimedia resources to support self-paced and instructor-led learning experiences.
General Responsibilities
- Will partner with subject matter experts and provide consultation to identify the best learning methods
- Manager a variety of types of projects with little support from their supervisor; highly autonomous
- Serve as support for training and workshops; This can involve setting up classrooms, organizing and facilitating activities, and being able to speak to some of the content or lead parts of the discussion
- Provide a high level of support and customer service across departments
General Instructional Design & Delivery
- Developing accurate and engaging multimedia resources for self-paced and/or instructor-led training.
- Collaborating with subject matter experts (SMEs) to identify the appropriate learning resource(s) to achieve the desired outcome.
- Acting as a resource and support fellow team members with workshop delivery, including room set up and some facilitation.
- Integrating learning theories and instructional design models to create effective and engaging learning experiences.
Digital Adoption Platform (DAP)
- Crafting interactive walkthroughs, tooltips, pop-ups, and other in-app guidance elements that help users navigate and understand new software or features. (DAP)
- Tailoring guidance and support to specific user segments and roles, ensuring that each user receives the most relevant and helpful information.
- Using data and analytics to understand user behavior, identify pain points, and optimize the user experience.
- Working closely with HRIS, functional leads, and other stakeholders to ensure the DAP aligns with overall product goals and user needs.
- Full-time position, Salary, exempt
- Pay Range is $89,500 - $105,000 annual
- The above represents the expected pay range for this job requisition. Ultimately, in determining your pay, we'll consider your experience and other job-related factors.
- Office hours in Irvine, CA: M-F, 8:00 am – 5:00 pm
- Travel: 10% of time dedicated to travel. Ability to travel to various Store or Support locations; Some overnight travel will be required to other states where In-N-Out Burger operates

Qualifications for INO associates
- In-N-Out Burger Store experience: Store experience preferred, but not required
- In-N-Out Burger Support experience: 2+ years in a Support or Office role, ideally in a corporate learning environment
Additional Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in HR, Educational Technology, Instructional Design, or relevant field preferred
- 2-4+ years of experience in corporate learning, talent, or information systems
- Strong communication skills for working with SMEs, learners, and other stakeholder
- Proven experience with digital adoption platforms like Oracle Guided Learning (OGL), WalkMe, WhatFix or similar tools.
- Proficiency with various e-learning authoring tools (e.g. Articulate Storyline, Adobe Captivate), learning management systems (LMS) and other relevant technologies)
- Strong understanding of learning theories, instructional design models (like ADDIE), and best practices
- Ability to develop, curate and organize digital learning content
- Ability to independently make decisions and manage projects to meet deadlines
- Ability to analyze learning needs, identify problems, and develop effective solutions that meet the needs of the learner/end-user
- Understanding of visual design principles to create engaging and visually appealing learning materials
- Ability to adapt to changing technologies and learning need
- Ability to build successful relationships and partnerships across the organization
- Strong customer service skills and an enthusiastic and positive attitude
