VOME Manufacturing Engineer for Final Assembly Launch Programs
In this key role, you will provide manufacturing engineering leadership throughout a new model launch. The Manufacturing Engineer in VOME MPT will be responsible for implementing tooling, processes, control plans and documents, and supporting and/or improving legacy equipment performance at plants:
Responsibilities
- Deliver Manufacturing Quality Operating System requirements for Vehicle Systems
- Collaborate with Product Development team to generate facility & tooling costs, improve quality, and reduce labor requirements
- Use virtual tools to evaluate the feasibility of new model designs for assembly operations. Confirm all product designs adhere to FAE standard manufacturing requirements
- Evaluate Significant and Critical Characteristics established by Product Engineers and develop Failure Mode Avoidance plan/documentation for New Model Programs
- Write/modify/maintain process sheets and deliver updated Cycle Line Layouts during development of manufacturing process
- Lead identification, resolution, and closure of Final Assembly Engineering (FAE) feasibility issues
- Review "Lessons Learned" from New Model launches and implement Prevent Reoccurrence Actions into future programs
- Collaborate with multi-functional groups (Program Implementation Teams, Product Development, Supplier Technical Assistance, Material Planning & Logistics, New Model Programs)
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related degree; or foreign equivalency degree, or a combination of equivalent experience and education.
- 2+ years of experience in Automotive Manufacturing Engineering
- 2+ years of experience w/automotive assembly tooling, processes, and facilities
Even better, you may have...
- Experience in working at a manufacturing site/vehicle operations
- Familiarity with error proofing
- Strong Project Management skills and result-oriented mindset
- MS Office knowledge (Word/Excel. PowerPoint/Outlook)
- Demonstrated 3D CAD reviewing abilities (Teamcenter, VisMockup, CATIA, or equivalent)
- Strong verbal and written communication and presentation skills
- Understanding of PFMEA and failure mode avoidance principles
- Knowledge in the following Ford software systems: FEDE, WERS, GSPAS/APT, Teamcenter, E2KS/Auros, CPARS/Aurora.
- Success operating in stressful situations within timing constraints.
- A history of working with minimal direct supervision
- Flexible operating patterns to support launch deliverables.
- Ability to problem solve using DMAIC principles.
- Travel up to 50% may be required.
