This is a non-supervisory, site-based position responsible for the day-to-day coordination and execution of safety and environmental protocols. The coordinator ensures that all safety policies and procedures (P&Ps) are being followed and that required safety and environmental action items are completed promptly. The role requires considerable exposure to various elements such as extreme temperatures, dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, unpleasant odors, and loud noises, as well as potentially dangerous materials that necessitate following extensive safety precautions and the use of protective equipment. Physical requirements include handling objects up to 25 pounds and the ability to stand and/or walk for more than four hours per day.


NOTE: This job is a safety-sensitive position subject to drug testing requirements.  A positive drug test will result in a job offer being rescinded or, for active employees, termination, even if they test positive for marijuana and have a valid medical marijuana license.

  • Ensure safety policies and procedures are followed and that all safety and environmental action items are completed.
  • Conduct routine safety and environmental inspections and audits at the assigned site(s).
  • Perform and review incident investigations, providing more intensive reviews when necessary, and analyzing data to identify safety and environmental trends.
  • Develop, conduct, and lead safety meetings and provide safety and environmental training to increase employee proficiency in safe work practices and promote overall safety awareness.
  • Serve as a primary liaison and consultant between management, contractors, and employees to resolve safety and environmental issues arising from daily operations.
  • Coordinate safety equipment supplies and manage other logistical details throughout assigned location(s).
  • Complete appropriate requisitions or recommendations and forward them to the Safety Manager.
  • Develop and execute corporate-wide safety projects and tasks as assigned.
  • Associate’s degree in a related field of study and one (1) year of experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Must possess a working knowledge of national safety/environmental standards and fire safety programs.
  • Must have keen observation and documentation ability. 
  • Must have the ability to create and present safety classes.
  • Must have the ability to communicate safety concepts and procedures to various audiences using verbal, written, and multi-media techniques.
  • Must possess the ability to interact positively with employees and management to create a safety partnership and safe working environment.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a license by the appropriate gaming authority.
