As Microsoft's cloud business continues to grow the ability to deploy new offerings and hardware infrastructure on time, in high volume with high quality and lowest cost is of paramount importance. To achieve this goal, the SCHIE FW COE team is instrumental in defining and delivering operational measures of success for hardware manufacturing, improving the planning process, quality, delivery, scale and sustainability related to Microsoft cloud hardware. We are looking for seasoned engineers with a dedicated passion for customer focused solutions, insight and industry knowledge to envision and implement future technical solutions that will manage and optimize the Cloud infrastructure.  

We are looking for a Sr. Technical Program Manager to join the team.

Responsibilities

  • You will work with the engineering team, silicon partners and hardware teams to ensure firmware plans are incorporated in the execution plan. 
  • Work with our engineering team on new HW SKUs under development and sustaining programs, and ensure FW development, validation and roll out plan is full proof.   
  • Define and develop FW requirements for our hardware that powers Azure through active engagement with internal/external partners. 
  • Drive Engineering teams to address any security vulnerabilities by agile execution across sprints, backlogs, milestones, and lead continuous planning efforts.  

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree AND 4+ years experience in engineering, product/technical program management, data analysis, or product development
  • OR equivalent experience.
  • 3+ years with knowledge of building low-level SW to run on HW (Firmware, UEFI, BMC, BS, etc.). 
  • 3+ years of experience in technical program management of complex cross-group, cross-business, cross-disciplinary projects. 
  • 3+ years of exceptional organization and project management skills, e.g., experience with SW/FW agile project management methodology, TFS, DevOps, JIRA or similar. 
  • OR equivalent experience.

Other Requirements:

Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to, the following specialized security screenings:

  • Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of experience as a technical Program Manager or in a technical role with systems experience. 
  • Experience with BIOS/UEFI. 

Technical Program Management IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $119,800 - $234,700 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $158,400 - $258,000 per year.
