The Pittsburg State University Department of Teaching and Leadership is accepting applications for a part-time, in-person, temporary Adjunct Lecturer to teach international short courses offered through the FNU-PSU partnership and align with the PSU K-6 elementary education curriculum for the Spring 2026 Semester.

The Department of Teaching and Leadership in the College of Education at Pittsburg State University invites energetic, collaborative educators to serve as adjunct professors for international short courses offered through the FNU-PSU 3+1 dual degree partnership. Candidates will be required to use an online learning management system and be willing to teach PSU courses delivered at Fujian Normal University (FNU) in Fuzhou, China. Courses are taught in English, primarily face-to-face, and align with the PSU K–6 elementary education curriculum. The program has dedicated Graduate Assistants for support in each class.

Duties and Responsibilities -  Workload, Orientation, and Support

  • Adjuncts typically teach one to two short-term courses per term. Selected candidates will receive orientation to the Pittsburg State University elementary curriculum and Fujian Normal University teaching environment.
  • This position does not require scholarly work or student advisement. Compensation will follow PSU-FNU adjunct pay policies. Visa procurement, travel, and lodging are provided.

Education And Experience

Required Education and Experience – Time of Hire

  • Master’s degree from an accredited institution in elementary education, curriculum and instruction, or a related field
  • Valid teaching certification for grades PK–6
  • Minimum of three years of full-time teaching experience with PK–6 students
  • Flexibility, adaptability, and strong problem-solving skills

Candidate's must hold a Master's degree in elementary education, curriculum and instruction or related field. This degree requirement is necessary for accreditation purposes and to ensure candidates possess the specialized knowledge, skills, and abilities that can only be attained through a formal educational program at this level.
 

Preferred Education and Experience

  • Experience living and working in an international setting
  • University-level teaching experience, preferably at the undergraduate level
  • Proficiency with learning management systems such as Canvas, Moodle, or Blackboard
  • Experience working with diverse student populations
  • Commitment to collaboration and inclusiveness
