Opportunity:

Virtual Service Operations is searching for a Cloud and Network Security Engineer to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will  serve as a subject matter expert, providing hands-on deployment, configuration, and technical guidance for Palo Alto Networks solutions. You will directly engage with customers to migrate from legacy technologies, build custom security policies, troubleshoot issues, and mentor client staff on best practices. The ideal candidate has 4+ year of experience and strong networking and security foundations, whether from Palo Alto or others. 

You will play a critical role in helping customers successfully adopt and maximize the value of Palo Alto Networks solutions. In this highly technical, hands-on position, you will provide both onsite and remote expertise to deploy, configure, and optimize security platforms. Serving as the subject matter expert, you will collaborate directly with customer personnel and project teams, offering leadership, technical direction, and practical alternatives to ensure solutions are aligned with best practices.

This role requires not only deep product knowledge but also a strong foundation in networking and security technologies, enabling the consultant to guide complex implementations and integrations with confidence. Many engagements involve clients transitioning from legacy or competitor technologies, which creates opportunities to leverage that prior experience to streamline migrations and anticipate potential challenges.

Day-to-day responsibilities include designing and implementing custom security policies and application signatures tailored to client needs, analyzing logs and events to identify and resolve issues, and providing technical troubleshooting in coordination with support teams. The consultant also ensures system stability through code upgrades, mentors client staff on ongoing operations, and delivers high-quality outcomes within defined project scope and timelines. Ultimately, the consultant is trusted to be the technical authority that customers count on to secure their digital environments and build long-term success with Palo Alto Networks solutions.

Requirements

• 4+ years of experience with cloud and network security 
• Prisma Access
• Experience with one or more of these vendors: Palo Alto Networks NGFW, Cisco, Checkpoint, Juniper (Netscreen), Fortinet products, Symantec/ Blue Coat, Zscaler / Windows and MAC OS including (debugging, editing Windows Registries, Plist, etc.
• Strong understanding of LAN and WAN networking protocols and technologies, including switching, routing, firewalls and security solutions
• Strong TCP/IP networking skills 
• Strong dynamic routing skills (BGP , OSPF, etc) 
• Experience working with Remote Access VPN solutions, IPSEC, PKI & SSL, TCP/IP , Authentication Protocols (LDAP , RADIUS, SAML, etc.) 
• Experience working with URL filtering 
• Experience working with Proxy and SSL Decryption 
• Please note that pursuant to a government contract, this specific position requires U.S. citizenship status
• This is a remote role, however, candidates located on the East Coast are preferred

Salary Description $135,000.00 - $145,000.00
