Position Description:  SunRiver Community Association is seeking a highly motivated Kitchen Manager to oversee operations in our community kitchen and dining services. This role is an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic, resident-focused environment, ensuring quality food service and a welcoming experience for our community members and guests.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage day-to-day kitchen operations, including scheduling, inventory, purchasing, and cost control.
  • Supervise, train, and motivate kitchen staff, fostering a positive team environment.
  • Ensure all food is prepared and presented to high quality standards.
  • Maintain compliance with health, safety, and sanitation regulations.
  • Collaborate with management to create menus, specials, and events.
  • Oversee equipment maintenance and kitchen cleanliness.
  • Manage Food Costs, Inventory and waste control
  • Manage a lunch and dinner Cafe, Event banquet dinners, and a variety of smaller food and beverage events.
  • Exceptional communication skills, including conflict resolution
  • Problem solving, energetic, and dynamic attitude

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a Kitchen Manager, Chef, or in a similar leadership role.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to inspire and support a team.
  • In-depth knowledge of food safety standards and kitchen best practices.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
  • Manager Food Safety Certification required.
  • 3–5  years of experience managing a high-volume kitchen preferred.
  • Ability  to stand for long periods of time.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and take initiative to achieve goals and tasks assigned by management.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to resolve conflicts using solution-based approaches.
  • Lift 50lbs on a regular basis.
  • Ability to bend, twist, cook over a hot flat top.
  • Ability to work with Event Coordinator and Event team to produce high quality food for the Community.
