The YMCA is looking for fun, hard working, individuals looking to make an impact in our community. This position will provide care for children at our Child Development Center ("Wee Care") located on the campus of Providence Portland hospital.

Job Responsibilities:
A Lead Teacher will work in the program supervising teachers, aides, and volunteers. Responsibilities include maintaining a safe and developmentally appropriate classroom environment, implementing a fun and engaging curriculum with a clear daily schedule, and fostering positive relationships with children and parents, with the support and direction of the Director. Additionally, Lead Teachers are responsible for completing all applicable record keeping and administrative tasks accurately in a timely manner, participating in observation and assessment of children as needed, and ultimately taking responsibility of the center in the absence of the Director (taking the lead in emergency situations, ensuring licensing standards are being upheld, managing the schedule to ensure ratio is being met, etc.).
Requirements
- Pass a YMCA Background Check
- Meet all qualification of a Certified Child Care Teacher as determined by the Department of Early Learning and Care.
- Current enrollment in the Oregon State Childcare Registry or ability to enroll prior to employment.
- Current CPR and First Aid certification or ability to obtain within 30 days.
- Current Food Handlers certification or ability to obtain within 30 days.
- At least 18 years of age.
