Job Duties

The Virginia Department of Conservation and Recreation (DCR) is the state’s lead conservation agency, and it takes a diverse agency to conserve resources for a diverse commonwealth.

The State Grants Manager provides managerial support for the Divisions of Dam Safety and Floodplain Management's grant activities as it relates to the administration of state grants. This position also manages process implementation and improvements, web applications, technical assistance, training, and grant cycle management. This position frequently interacts with internal and external customers using both verbal and written communication skills to discuss grant and financial related matters.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Significant experience with state government grant cycle management and coordination.
  • Experience with financial reconciliation.
  • Experience with policy development.
  • Knowledge of contracts and bookkeeping.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and data entry.

Additional Considerations

  • Experience with financial technical assistance, training, and customer service to local governments.
  • Experience managing multiple government funding sources.
