Position Summary: As an ENGEO Staff Engineer you’ll be exposed to a wide variety of project scopes, types, and technical challenges. Primary Responsibilities

  • Develop geotechnical recommendations, plans, and technical specifications for design and construction of private and public projects. 
  • Perform geotechnical analysis and design of shallow and deep foundation systems, ground improvement systems, earth-retaining structures, slopes, landslide mitigation solutions, and more. 
  • Assess static and dynamic slope stability, ground settlement and deformation, and soil liquefaction using various geotechnical software applications.
  • Perform static and dynamic numerical modeling using finite-element and finite-difference methods as implemented in PLAXIS, FLAC, and other software applications.
  • Perform site-specific seismic-hazard and ground-response analyses. 
  • Assist with the planning and execution of field investigations including logging borings and test pits, collecting samples, performing field tests, and observing and assisting with cone penetration and geophysical testing.
  • Develop laboratory testing plans, review laboratory test results, and develop representative soil properties for geotechnical analyses and design.
  • Prepare detailed geotechnical reports, letters, plans, and other documents.
  • Observe construction of foundations, ground improvement, shoring, grading operations, and other geotechnical construction.
  • Complete other field, analytical, and project administrative tasks with direction and support from peers and leadership. 
  • Learn increasingly more complex, non-routine tasks with review and oversight from senior staff.

Requirements

  • 1-3 years-professional/relevant internship/field experience 
  • E.I.T 
  • Sound knowledge of civil engineering fundamentals and soil mechanics 
  • A team player who enjoys problem-solving and fast-paced environments

  • Desire to continually learn and grow 
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills 
  • Driven to go above and beyond in client service 

All Candidate Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree – Required (M.S. degree or Ph.D. in Civil or Geotechnical Engineering - Preferred)
  • Proficient in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office Products. Numerical modeling, seismic hazard analysis, and GIS experience are a plus. 
  • Must be comfortable working in a fast-paced, dynamic, and diverse environment 
  • Ability to work and succeed as a team also while being resourceful when working alone in the field. 
  • Construction appropriate vehicle for driving onto job sites
