Department Overview:

Gathering Waters is Wisconsin’s Alliance for Land Trusts. We promote land conservation and strengthen Wisconsin’s land trusts—nonprofit organizations that permanently protect trails, scenic views, working lands, and wild places.

Qualifications:

Work study eligible.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • We're looking for someone with:
  • An appreciation for land and natural resources conservation
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Detail-oriented, organized, and able to work independently
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Google Suite
  • Familiarity with social media platforms (including Facebook and Instagram) and creating engaging content

Position Summary/Job Duties:

  • Job duties include (but are not limited to):
  • Writing articles summarizing recent news in the land trust community and about the Knowles-Nelson Stewardship Program
  • Assisting with social media, including creating content like reels, and engaging with land trusts through their social media accounts
  • Writing occasional blog articles or web copy about environmental issues and advocacy
  • Participating in weekly team meetings and discussions that relate to the entire organization
