Senior Data Engineer

About The Job

You will be joining a growing AI team with 5 other members and a core mission to turn data into measurable business value. Your primary role is to build and operate reliable data pipelines in a young scaleup on track for 400% YoY growth.
Your pipelines will power projects from improving customer support through live feedback to CS agents to optimizing the business of 50,000 (and counting) merchants.

What You'Ll Do

• Design, build, and own batch and streaming pipelines in Databricks (PySpark).
• Model data for analytics and ML; maintain clean, well-documented tables in Unity Catalog.
• Work with external APIs and internal teams to integrate new data sources
• Implement data quality, lineage, and observability.
• Optimize cost and performance
• Partner with data scientists and product teams to deliver features.
• Automate deployment and testing; keep pipelines simple and maintainable using Databricks workflows.

Who You Are

• 4+ years of experience as a data engineer.
• Strong PySpark and SQL in production.
• Pragmatic and flexible mindset. You apply best practices when they help, bend them when they don’t.
• Solid understanding of ETL/ELT design, data modelling, and partitioning strategies.
• Databricks experience or equivalent
• AWS familiarity (S3, IAM)
