Overview
Coordinates and directly works on activities of direct production workers in hot zone assembly and fabrication. Goal to achieve production schedule completion dates, quality expectations, production labor standards and overall customer requirements in a safe and consistent manner. The position is responsible for supporting all equipment assembly and parts fabrication on second shift.
Responsibilities
Includes, but is not limited to, the following…
- Reviews and understands production plans, goals and requirements
- Setup and run sheet metal fabrication machinery to required quality and productivity standards
- Communicates with area Team Leaders and Supervisors on a daily basis
- Distributes work to employees in fabrication and hot zone assembly
- Tracks daily progress of all WIP jobs and take necessary course corrections to maintain on-time completion. Complete daily shift report.
- Trains and motivates workers to achieve goals
- Provides prompt employee performance feedback to Operations Manager and/or HR
- Interprets company policies to workers and enforces consistent regulations in the areas of but not limited to: ISO, safety and other associated work rules
- Works with supervision to resolve design, material or other problems
- Recommends production and process improvements
- Promptly notifies supervisory staff or HR on all important personnel matters
- Other duties as assigned/needed
Qualifications
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE: Must have a High School Degree or GED equivalent ; minimum of 3 years general manufacturing experience and/or training.
LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read, analyze, interpret, and comprehend all forms of written and/or verbal instructions including but not limited to basic correspondence and blueprints. Effectively able to present information and respond to questions from managers, supervisors, and other employees of the organization. MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, fractions, decimals, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, angles, and volume. Knowledge of basic concepts of geometry. REASONING ABILITY: Ability to apply a common sense approach and understanding to carry out instructions furnished in oral and written form. CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: Ability to train, receive certification and operate a forklift and overhead crane.
