An Exciting Opportunity Awaits
We currently have an opportunity for a Business Analyst to join our Project Management team in our Winnipeg or Steinbach branch. The Business Analyst will seek to elicit, analyze, communicate, and validate requirements for changes to business processes, policies, and information systems; and recommend solutions based on an understanding of current business issues and new opportunities.
Specific Responsibilities
- Conduct research and gather data for analysis to develop recommendations and/or business cases in support of strategic initiatives, collaborating with internal and external stakeholders as necessary
- Evaluate, identify and recommend changes to business processes or systems that improve efficiency and/or quality of member service and participate in or manage the implementation of the recommendation
- Develop current and future state workflow diagrams and process flows as required
- Work with internal and external stakeholders to identify, validate and prioritize business requirements through interviews, workshops, use cases, workflow analysis, and document analysis
- Work with internal and external partners to identify linkages, legislative requirements/ constraints, systems/member impact and procedural changes needed to support projects
- Participating on project teams, providing support throughout the project lifecycle to manage business requirements, serving as a liaison between business units and the project team, translating concepts into terms understandable to staff and members
- Recommend appropriate tracking, control and reporting methods to be implemented in support of business solutions
- Assist with the development of test strategies, plans, and scripts; supporting testing as required
- Conduct change impact analysis to assess the potential impacts of change and document findings
- Assist with the development of change management plans, assisting staff through the transition of change brought on by solutions implemented through projects
- Maintain thorough knowledge of and adhere to business analysis, project management, change management, and/or process improvement practices and methodologies
Qualifications
- Grade 12 Diploma, plus two years of formal education or equivalent specializing in business analysis
- An IIBA certification is considered an asset
- A minimum of 4 to 6 years of work-related experience in business analysis and project management, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- A strong leader who is a systems thinker/ problem solver, with a member-centred approach and drive to continuously improve and add value to the business
- Ability to work well in an environment with multiple and often changing priorities
- Ability to multi-task and manage various project elements simultaneously
- Superior interpersonal skills, leadership and influential capabilities; highly developed relationship management skills to effectively manage relationships both internally and externally
- Previous experience in the financial services industry would be considered an asset
- Previous experience working within DNA Banking System would be considered an asset
- Knowledge of Credit Union products, services, and systems would be considered an asset
