The Opportunity
At Alpha Inc., people aren’t just our workforce—they are our heartbeat. We’re looking for a Chief People Officer (CPO) to drive our People & Culture function with both grit and heart. This is a role for someone who knows how to balance Hawaii’s unique labor laws with modern HR leadership, who can connect with blue-collar crews in the field and executives in the boardroom, and who thrives under the weight of high expectations.
This isn’t HR as usual. It’s about protecting Alpha’s culture, empowering employees, and shaping the future of our company. The CPO will be our culture carrier, mentor, and connector—someone who can listen with humility, speak with integrity, and act with accountability. If you believe HR should inspire trust, fuel performance, and lead with transparency, this is your calling.
About Alpha Inc.
At Alpha Inc., we are dedicated to building Hawaii's future through excellence in heavy civil construction, water well drilling, renewable energy, and concrete services. As a locally owned and operated company, we take pride in delivering high-impact projects that serve our communities for generations.
We live by three core values that shape how we work and lead:
- Lead with Heart – Approaching every endeavor with humility, empathy, and respect.
- Strength in Unity – Fostering trust and collaboration to achieve collective success.
- Alpha Mentality – Demonstrating grit, accountability, and a relentless drive to excel.
Join us in shaping what’s next — with purpose, pride, and the Alpha mindset.
What You Will Do
- Champion Alpha’s culture and values—embedding heart, unity, and accountability across the company.
- Advise the CEO and executive team on people strategy, growth, and organizational development.
- Lead recruitment and retention efforts to attract and keep the best talent for both office and field teams.
- Ensure full compliance with Hawaii and federal labor laws, OSHA standards, and employment regulations.
- Mentor and coach leaders at every level to improve trust, decision-making, and team performance.
- Build team bonding and morale programs that keep our workforce engaged, connected, and supported.
- Oversee compensation, benefits, and wellness programs that are competitive, sustainable, and people-focused.
- Model transparency and follow-through, setting the standard for communication and accountability.
- Be present and available, even beyond standard work hours, to support our people when it matters most.
- Drive continuous improvement in HR systems, policies, and practices that enable both compliance and culture.
What You Bring
- 10+ years of progressive HR leadership, including at least 3+ years in executive or senior leadership roles.
- Strong background in talent management, organizational development, HR strategy, and compliance.
- Extensive knowledge of Hawaii labor laws and federal employment regulations.
- Demonstrated success in culture building, leadership coaching, and organizational alignment.
- High emotional intelligence, humility, and communication skills—with the ability to build trust across crews and executives alike.
- Experience working with or leading blue-collar and field-based teams strongly preferred.
- Ability to remain composed and approachable under pressure.
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required; Master’s degree preferred.
- HR certifications (SPHR, SHRM-SCP, or equivalent) strongly preferred.
- Deep alignment with Alpha’s mission, values, and commitment to leading with heart.
Why Alpha?
At Alpha Inc., we’re not just building infrastructure—we’re building Hawaii’s future with purpose, precision, and pride. As a locally owned company, we take on complex challenges with a clear mission: deliver high-impact solutions rooted in ingenuity, ‘ohana, and long-term impact.
Here, you’ll join a team that leads with heart, embodies strength in unity, and lives the Alpha Mentality. We value grit, trust, and teamwork—and we believe success comes from doing the work that matters, together.
If you’re driven by people, motivated by culture, and ready to lead with both compassion and strength—you belong at Alpha.
