Job Description

Under the direction of the Director of State and Federal Compliance, the Grants Manager is responsible for managing compliance and fiscal aspects of the Academy’s external grant opportunities in compliance with local, state, and federal policies. The role is responsible for supporting the organizational effort to ensure reporting and expenditures are targeted for grants the Academy was awarded.

Essential Job Duties:

  • Work alongside the grant leads in monitoring grants with allowable expenditures and strategic planning for the grant's stated period.  
  • Work closely with key department administrators, general education teachers, and staff to ensure programmatic compliance with grant guidelines. 
  • Assist with planning, organizing, and coordinating program requirements that align with established goals and objectives of each grant. 
  • Assist with supervising, evaluating, coaching, and providing guidance to assigned staff to ensure compliance with established grant goals and objectives.
  • Facilitate and support positive communication and professional expectations with community partners. 
  • Assist with implementation of family engagement activities when necessary. 
  • Assist with developing and managing budgets to ensure compliance with budgetary and funding regulations associated with all grants. 
  • Track and monitor all open grants expenses are accurate and allowable.
  • Oversee timely submission of reports for all open grants.
  • Oversee procurement selection of vendors when necessary. 
  • Oversee contracts compliance and tracking for the organization. 
  • Review and analyze evaluation and assessment documentation and recommend revisions to grant processes and procedures, as needed. 
  • Develop, implement, and monitor various recordkeeping systems to collect, monitor, and maintain grant data within various information systems. 
  • Maintain professional competence through participation in professional development as provided by the network, state, consultants, or self-selected professional growth opportunities. 
  • Research and review private, local, state, and federal funding sources that apply to program needs and will provide ongoing support of programs. 
  • Attend any training offered by Wonderful College Prep Academy, California Department of Education (CDE), or the grant administration, as directed. 
  • Serve as liaison between academy staff and Director of State and Federal Compliance in exploring and pursuing grant opportunities.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 7:30 am - 4:30 pm 

Pay Range: $83,500.00 - $94,000.00. Final compensation will be dependent upon skills & experience.

Qualifications

  • A BA/BS from a recognized college or university, preferably with a major in a related field. 
  • Minimum of five years of compliance and or finance experience.  
  • Previous experience with public or charter schools and grant management preferred. 
  • Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.
  • Exceptional organizational and time management abilities, with a keen eye for detail.
  • Proficiency in educational technology tools and learning management systems.
  • Familiarity with performance evaluation and management techniques.
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and work under tight deadlines.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make informed decisions.
