Customer Product Specialist – Thermoplastic Elastomers - EMEA

Overview

We are looking for a Customer Product Specialist – Thermoplastic Elastomers - EMEA based in our Meyrin office in Switzerland.

Responsibilities

Purpose And Summary Of Position:

• Partner with commercial team to drive Technical Exchanges and customer engagements enabling growth and profitability through project creation and pipeline build
• Recommend product selection to the commercial team for the best technical fit and production capability.
• Support project execution, customer needs for product and application data, processing guidelines and regulatory certifications.
• Provide technical training on products and applications for internal teams and customers.
• Provide technical recommendations to commercial, quality, manufacturing, and field tech services regarding the resolution of customer complaints.
• Drive competitive benchmarking as needed jointly with BL and commercial.

Qualifications

Required Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

• MS or Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering/Chemistry/Polymer Science or Engineering/Materials Science
• 2 years and above experience in Commercial or ADE role OR 3 years and above experience in a Technical Service or T&I role
• Excellent presentation and communication skills to work effectively in a global environment. Fluency in English (written and spoken) is a must. Other languages (e.g., German, French) are a plus.
• Self-starter, goal-oriented, hands-on individual with drive for solving problems.

Desirable Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

• Strong working knowledge on elastomeric materials.
• Understanding of key elastomer markets and customers in EMEA
• Working knowledge of analytical characterization techniques for rheological, mechanical, thermal properties.
• Working knowledge of polymer processes including compounding, injection molding and extrusion
• Working knowledge in material science, especially on polymer structure-property relationships
• Work well in team environment and possess the interpersonal and communication skills needed to work effectively in cross-functional teams to drive project to completion.
