Job DescriptionYou will be responsible for designing and implementing a manufacturing system consisting of electrical, mechanical, soft good fabrication, assembly, system integration, validation and refurbishment activities. This position requires someone who is dynamic, driven, organized and detail oriented; excels in project management; communicates with ease at all levels; thrives in ambiguous environments and is adept at facilitating actions and resolving conflicts. As a member of the Integrated Product Team, you will be a key voice for manufacturing and supply chain in developing the next generation platforms. Role Responsibilities· Monitors and evaluates production methods to ensure adherence to product specifications and requirements.· Works closely with manufacturing personnel to identify cost reduction opportunities and address production issues.· Designs and develops new machinery, methods or tooling to improve processes and procedures.· Identifies and interfaces with external industry SME’s and suppliers to select machine components and tools to ensure cost effective solutions.· Manages the introduction and implementation of new machinery and production processes.· Ensures that equipment and new machinery meet all applicable safety standards.· Provides training and work instructions for new equipment and processes.· Builds, wires, programs, debugs, maintains, and troubleshoots equipment and machinery as needed.· Resolves technical problems that impact manufacturing performance, costs or scheduling.· Improves and optimizes product flow by analyzing and planning workflow, space requirements, workspace ergonomics, and equipment layout.· Participates in design reviews and acts as a liaison between design engineering and manufacturing.· Reviews engineering drawings for manufacturability and provides manufacturing approval for drawing release.· Interfaces with engineering and quality personnel to develop test methods and establish standards to confirm manufacturing processes.· Assists with QA studies and validations on production lines as needed.· Provides manufacturing decision-making information through data collection; calculating production, labor, and material costs; reviewing production schedules; estimating future requirements.· Prepares product and process reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends in cooperation with Quality Engineering.· Maintains product and process database using appropriate software to enter and analyze data.· Positively reinforces and supports company policies, procedures and work practices.· Maintains product and company reputation by complying with government regulations.· Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies. Qualifications· BS/BA in related field· A minimum of 3 years of manufacturing automation experience· Machine control design and PLC programming experience is required· 3D CAD modeling skills are required, SolidWorks experience is preferred· Proficiency in conceptual in-line planning and standing up new automated assembly lines· Hands on experience with automation of textile or plastic manufacturing· Strong working knowledge of power subsystems and converter design and operation is highly desirable· Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal· Ability to work in a fast-paced cross-functional environment, make quality decisions, and meet challenging deadlines Bonus Points· Advanced degree in relevant field is a plus· Experience writing procedures and work instructions· 10+ years of manufacturing, fabrication, assembly, or test engineering experience with responsibilities including resource management, schedule management, budget responsibility, supplier selection, and multidisciplinary team involvement· Solar and Lithium battery charger design experience is a plus· Knowledge in soft goods, patterning and heat-sealing methods for thermoplastics is a plus· AutoCAD experience is a plus· Knowledge and experience in Lean Manufacturing, 6-Sigma, DMAIC process is a plus What We Offer· Work alongside experts in emerging technology· Full benefits including Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, etc.· Modern office with kitchen, exercise area, amazing views, and more!
