The Research Analyst will support the execution of Tunnl’s research projects through survey programming, data validation, quality control, and reporting. Reporting to an Account Director, this role is essential to ensuring our research is executed accurately, on time, and with clarity.
You will collaborate closely with Strategic Research and Account Management teams to support projects from kickoff to delivery. You will support client projects from kickoff through delivery, gaining exposure to the full research lifecycle—from survey programming to final deliverables. This is a hands-on role suited for someone with strong attention to detail, comfort working with data, and a desire to grow technical and analytical skills in survey research and microtargeting.

Responsibilities
- Client, Reporting & Deliverable Support:
- Prepare client-facing reporting materials such as toplines, crosstabs, memos, and slide decks
- Ensure formatting, consistency, and accuracy across all client-facing outputs
- Assist with drafting topline summaries or key findings when requested
- Join client meetings and calls, take notes, and learn about client industries and needs
- Data Import/Export & ETL Support:
- Support importing/exporting data from internal systems and external platforms (e.g., LiveRamp, Qualtrics, Dropbox)
- Assist with audience file formatting, ID matching, and record tagging
- Conduct QA on incoming and outgoing datasets, including row-level spot checks and file integrity reviews
- Partner with senior team members to troubleshoot ETL issues and improve import/export processes
- Survey Programming & Fielding Support:
- Program surveys in platforms like Qualtrics, ensuring logic, skips, quotas, and weighting setups are correct
- Monitor fielding progress and flag quota issues or unusual response patterns
- Escalate timing or feasibility concerns proactively to the Research Manager
- Quality Control & Data Validation:
- Conduct first-pass QC on survey instruments, fielding logic, and audience assignments
- Validate data files, ensuring accurate application of weights, quotas, and filtering
- Identify inconsistencies or data issues and propose fixes before manager review
- Process Documentation & Continuous Improvement:
- Follow SOPs for QC, audience tagging, survey builds, and delivery
- Document recurring issues and suggest improvements to workflow
- Maintain internal Dropbox folders and tracking tools to support delivery consistency
Required Qualifications
- 0–2 years of experience in survey research, market research, analytics, or equivalent (internships or academic experience considered)
- Hands-on familiarity with survey programming and basic data processing
- Strong attention to detail and communication skills with demonstrated ability to catch and resolve errors
- Comfort working with structured data and large datasets
- Proactive team player that wants to join a high performing team and is curious about research
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in public affairs, brand insights, political campaigns, or market research
- Familiarity with concepts like survey weighting, quotas, probabilities, and more
- Exposure to reporting outputs such as banners, crosstabs, memos, or presentation decks
- Exposure to different programming languages, like SQL, R, Python, etc.
- Strong written communication skills for summaries and client-facing outputs
- Experience with Dropbox, Hubspot, or ticketing/project tracking systems
