AR – AP Specialist for North America

We are looking for an AR–AP Specialist to manage our portfolio of North American customers and vendors, working in the US time zone. This role is based in Budapest as part of the North America Credit & Collections Team. It offers the chance to immerse yourself in AR–AP processes, gain hands-on experience, and further develop your career. Your primary focus will be on ensuring timely customer collections, maintaining accurate accounts, and processing invoices efficiently.

What You Will Do

  • Communicating with clients daily
  • Tracking and resolving outstanding payment issues
  • Owning, reporting, and proactively escalating any queries that prevent payments
  • Assisting in clarifying unapplied cash
  • Resolving billing issues and addressing customer invoice queries
  • Identifying delinquent accounts for write-off or collection agency referral
  • Processing Incoming Invoices

  • Automating and creating templates for coding
  • Reviewing and providing coding
  • Handling Local Mailboxes

  • Maintaining the coding manual
  • Communicating with internal stakeholders
  • Handling Queries

  • Providing input and checking accuracy of work
  • Assisting with external audits
  • Reviewing and maintaining purchase ledger, debit, and aged balance
  • Cleaning up master data (e.g., payment terms)
  • Reviewing Payment Proposals

  • Aligning processes and identifying areas for improvement

Your Profile

  • Approximately 3–5 years of proven experience in a similar role
  • Experience within a Financial Shared Service Centre preferred
  • Solid accounting knowledge with strong Excel skills
  • Fluent in English; knowledge of another European language is an advantage
  • Confident user of MS Office tools, SAP, and LN
  • Proactive, hands-on approach with strong communication skills
  • Well-developed organizational and prioritization abilities
  • Secondary school certificate required; BSc in Finance & Accounting or Business Administration is an advantage
