Job Description
The Red Gate Group is seeking a Mid-Level Cloud Platform Engineer to support the Defense Threat Reduction Agency (DTRA) in Reston, VA. This is an exciting opportunity to use your cloud engineering expertise to design and optimize solutions that directly support national security missions.

You’ll work with cutting-edge tools and container technologies to design resilient cloud platforms, streamline development and deployment, and ensure seamless orchestration. Responsibilities
As a Cloud Platform Engineer, you will:
- Architect, build, and maintain scalable cloud platforms on AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Automate system configurations, orchestrate DevOps pipelines, and manage network operations in cloud environments.
- Leverage Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, Ansible, or Puppet to deploy and manage infrastructure.
- Manage Git-based version control systems, including GitLab and GitHub.
- Support development and operations teams with CI/CD pipeline management, scaling, and release strategies.
- Collaborate with engineers, developers, and mission stakeholders to inform cloud strategy and ensure compliance with best practices.
- Contribute to ongoing improvements in system security, resilience, and automation.
- 4+ years of experience with DevOps and Agile methodologies.
- 3+ years of experience with automation tools (Terraform, CloudFormation, Ansible, or Puppet).

Qualifications
Active Ts/Sci
- 3+ years of experience automating configurations, orchestrating DevOps pipelines, and supporting system operations in cloud environments.
- 3+ years of experience managing Git-based version control systems (GitLab, GitHub).
- 2+ years of experience architecting and deploying applications on AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Experience with Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) for automated configuration, deployment, and monitoring (CI/CD).
- Experience provisioning and managing applications across AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Familiarity with system integration protocols, including JSON, REST, and XML.
- Scripting experience in Bash, PowerShell, Python, Groovy, or Ruby.
- Experience leveraging JSON, YAML, or XML for system and application configuration.
- Certifications: Agile, DevOps, or Cloud (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
- 3+ years of experience managing Git-based version control systems (GitLab, GitHub).
