Summary:

Directs the functional area's activities and resources to ensure alignment with the mission, values, and objectives of the department and Memorial Healthcare System. Responsible for the strategic direction and oversight of the Corporate Finance Department.

Responsibilities:

Plans and monitors staffing activities, including hiring, orienting, evaluating, disciplinary actions, and continuing education initiatives.Leads the operations financial work for the Graduate Medical Education program.Coordinates and oversees all tax returns, technical accounting, and financial reporting, including the implementation of all newly issued accounting and reporting guidance.Assists with the preparation and evaluation of the functional area's budgets and ensures that the area operates in compliance with allocated funding. Coordinates and directs internal/external audits.Supervises and coaches a team of finance professionals, with multiple direct reports at the leadership level. Supervises multiple special projects that may involve complex analyses, business valuations, technical and purchase accounting, coordination with leaders across multiple internal departments, as well as coordination with external parties.Oversees the Shared Services Departments, which includes Payroll, Accounts Payable, and Fixed Assets / Construction accounting.Manages and evaluates the functional area's operations, including information technologies, service level determination, and complaint management to achieve performance and quality control objectives.Develops and implements functional area goals, plans, and standards consistent with the administrative, legal, and ethical requirements/objectives of the organization.Manages and oversees the month-end close process for the healthcare system, which includes the consolidation of all entities.Provides executive leadership with financial information and analyses to drive business decision and strategy.
