Boeing Mission Systems Phantom Works organization has an exciting opportunity for a senior level Communication Navigation Identification (CNI) engineer. This CNI engineering will be part of a proprietary program located in Berkeley, MO.

This position will lead solutions and integration of secure, interoperable, multi-channel, and multi-band Communications, Navigation, and Identification (CNI) systems. The selected engineer will work in a high performing, cross functional test team, responsible for Navigation solutions in GPS contested areas using avionics systems and radios, as well as other CNI related integrations. Interpreting customer requirements to derive technical solutions.

This position will directly report to the Core Avionics team within Mission Systems on a Phantom Works Proprietary program.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Perform trade studies, modeling, simulation and other forms of analysis to predict component, interconnects and system performance and to optimize design
  • Researches specific technology advances for potential application
  • Develop Navigation and Comms statement-of-work and technical performance specifications
  • Designs hardware, software and interface specifications
  • Define and conduct tests to validate performance of designs to requirements
  • Using CAMEO Analyze, translate, and implement requirements into system architecture, hardware and software designs and interface specifications, showing traceability throughout the product lifecycle
  • Assists in monitoring supplier performance to ensure system integration and compliance with requirements
  • Support project management by providing work statement, budget, schedule and other required inputs and by reporting project status
  • Interface with multiple disciplines, internal and external customers, suppliers, and multiple levels of the organization

This position is expected to be 100% onsite.  The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.

This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship.  A final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start

Basic Qualifications (Required Skill/Experience):

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry
  • Level 5: 14+ years' related work experience with a bachelor's degree OR an equivalent combination of technical education and experience

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Navigation solutions, development and qualification, physical and functional integration and design and resolving supplier technical issues
  • Electrical engineering experience involving: system requirements, functional decomposition and allocation, integrated design, analysis and evaluation, verification
  • Experience with Avionics Hardware development, design, production and project management
  • Mission Systems Communication Navigation Identification (CNI)

Typical Education/Experience:

Leve 5: Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), computer science, engineering data science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 14 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience or non-US equivalent qualifications. In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
