Boeing Defense, Space and Security (BDS) is modernizing its foundational product lifecycle management (PLM), manufacturing operations management (MOM), and enterprise resources planning (ERP) systems; enhancing its data strategies; and improving alignment of its execution processes via a program called Sapphire that is a joint effort between BDS and Boeing Information Digital Technology and Security (IDT&S).
The Senior Sapphire Integrated Planning & Scheduling Team Lead is the technical authority for Program Sapphire’s integrated schedule, bringing deep scheduling expertise and toolset mastery. This role owns the integrity of the Information Management System (IMS) and subordinate schedules, leads complex critical‑path, scenario and resource analyses, directs schedule recovery and change control, mentors the scheduling team, coordinates cross‑Integrated Project Team (IPT) integration and dependency resolution, prepares executive‑level briefings and escalations, and drives continuous improvement and automation of scheduling processes and tools.
Position Responsibilities:
- Own the program schedule to develop, maintain, baseline, and report on the Integrated Master Schedule (IMS) and program-level forecasts
- Lead and mentor a team of schedulers and planners to define staffing, development, and performance goals
- Integrate schedules horizontally and vertically across functions, product groups, suppliers, and IDT&S/ (BDS) partners
- Manage change integration and baseline control to translate change requests into schedule impacts and recovery plans
- Develop and maintain lower-level/resource loaded schedules aligned to the IMS to validate resource allocations and critical path drivers
- Facilitate Brown Room / Green Room integration activities and lead cross-functional cadence meetings
- Drive system transitions and schedule tool implementations (training, rollout, sustainment)
- Provide Subject Matter Expert (SME) input into Statements of Work, program planning requests, and Information Technology (IT)/product development initiatives
- Present status, risk, and recovery plans to senior/executive leadership
- Own the program’s overall schedule and any system transitions
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
- Bachelor’s Degree or higher
- Ability to obtain access to Special Access Programs (SAP)
- 5+ years of experience working with cross-functional or cross-organizational teams to develop and implement plans, schedule, or solutions
- Experience performing in a leadership role
- Experience developing and maintaining integrated resource-loaded schedules, including the use of project management tools and software such as MS Project, Milestones, Primavera, Open Plan Professional, etc.
- Experience developing and maintaining integrated resource loaded project plans to describe and manage subject statements of work project content, sequencing, timing / duration, and dependencies
- Experience assembling and delivering key briefings both to senior leadership as well as through the organization
- Experience delivering training modules
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
- Project Management Professional (PMP), Project Management Institute-Scheduling Professional (PMI-SP), or similar scheduling/project management certification
- Experience with project management best practices and processes
- Experience in a Team Lead role
- Experience managing competing priorities and deliveries under time constraints
- Experience supporting a large complex project
- Experience in Information Technology programs or ERP/PLM/MOM modernization initiatives
- Experience with program planning and integration activities
- Experience with Open Plan Professional
- Experience with Azure DevOps (ADO) and JIRA
