Boeing Test & Evaluation’s (BT&E) Northwest Flight Test team is seeking to hire a Flight Test Design & Manufacturing Engineering Manager, to join the Commercial & Commercial Derivatives programs team based in Tukwila, WA.

In this role, the manager will be responsible for oversight of activities associated with design & manufacturing planning of flight test instrumentation installations on commercial and military aircraft programs. Responsibilities span all phases of Design and Build effort starting with estimation, requirements development, baseline development, resource planning, work placement, oversight of engineering & ME planning releases as well as providing liaison engineering support during build and test execution phase.  This manager will be in charge of managing budget, schedule, cost, risks & opportunities while emphasizing Safety and First Pass Quality.

Position Responsibilities Include:

  • Manage employees performing activities within multiple (2 or more) Engineering disciplines
  • Develop and execute project and process plans, implement policies and procedures and set operational goals
  • Acquire resources for projects and processes, provide technical management of suppliers and lead process improvements
  • Develop and maintain relationships and partnerships with customers, stakeholders, peers, partners and direct reports
  • Provide oversight and approval of technical approaches, products and processes
  • Manage, develop and motivate employees

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement
  • 3+ years of experience leading or managing global teams
  • 3+ years of experience with commercial, military, or commercial derivative aircraft involving design, analysis, analysis, manufacturing, procurement, assembly, integration, test, delivery and fleet support
  • 1+ years of experience managing cost and schedule performance using Earned-Value Management (EVM) principles

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Flight test experience

Summary pay range: $138,550 – $187,450
