The Team
We’re looking for an experienced IT Area Lead to head our Data Collection domain—an area central to ING’s integrated data architecture. You’ll be responsible for delivering scalable, cloud-native data collection and integration solutions that support ING’s Finance & Risk functions. You’ll combine strong leadership with deep technical expertise in data-intensive systems, and act as a strategic partner to architects and senior stakeholders.
You’ll report to the IT Lead of Data & Reporting Foundation and collaborate closely with Enterprise Architects, ING Hubs, and global partners.
Roles And Responsibilities
We are looking for in an IT Area for the following:
- Define and execute IT strategy aligned with ING’s data vision.
- Design and build the data collection function of the Finance and Risk Integrated Data Architecture with exceptional speed and performance
- Lead and grow IT Chapters focused on data collection, integration, and transformation.
Ensure Engineering Excellence In:
- Agile, customer-centric software development
Cloud-Native Data Platforms
- Data modeling, ETL, lineage, and quality
- Drive predictable delivery and operational reliability.
- Build high-performing teams and attract top engineering talent.
- Own the IT custodianship of applications, keeping risk within appetite and ensuring operational excellence.
- Collaborate globally with ING Hubs and strategic partners (SSI India).
- Ensure predictable, high-quality delivery of software solutions by your squads.
- Manage budgets across software, services, and staffing.
- Agile, customer-centric software development
Cloud-Native Data Platforms
- Data modeling, ETL, lineage, and quality

- Bachelor’s in Computer Science or related field.
- 5+ years in IT leadership, ideally in data-intensive environments.
- Strong understanding of cloud architecture and public cloud services.
- Experience with data platforms, data modeling, and integration tooling.
- Proven ability to attract, develop, and retain top engineering talent.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
- A passion for technology and continuous learning.
- Experience in financial services or banking is a plus.
