About The Role

This position is primarily responsible for collecting, assembling and completing material compliance submissions for Harman customers.

What You Will Do

  • Collect, create, review, and manage IMDS material compliance data.
  • Create technical files like critical component lists, user manual and application documents.
  • Consult with project management, engineering, procurement and supplier quality staff to address problems that may occur during certification process
  • Review and maintain product labels for compliance with labeling material compliance requirements.
  • Ensure conformity of the products regarding GADSL, legal and customer specific requirements in all relevant markets for the complete product lifecycle, including spare parts
  • Review of customer specifications and requirements regarding material compliance
  • Perform RoHS conformity checks and create RoHS conformity reports for products
  • Handling and reporting the material content data in IMDS and company specific IT system
  • Collect and check material content data from suppliers for all supplied parts. Advise suppliers to achieve data improvement
  • Create material data sheets in IMDS for OEM based on BOM information out of SAP

What You Need to Be Successful

  • Associates degree in Engineering discipline,practical experience in Electrical or Environmental Engineering.
  • 3 or more years related experience with electronic products material compliance, such as: ELV, RoHS, REACh, SCIP, etc.
  • Good knowledge in IMDS usage and acceptance criteria for material data sheets.
  • MS software (Excel, Word, Power point, Project, and Visio…) is required.
  • Good skills in the usage of SAP.
  • Good knowledge in material compliance IT systems, iPoint iPCA preferred.
  • Good knowledge about the design and material content of electronic and mechanical components
  • Excellent English communication ability.

Bonus Points if You Have

  • BEE (Bachelor of Electrical), Environmental Engineering or above in any related field.
  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience dealing in regulatory processes.
  • Knowledge of quality management systems (ISO 9000, IATF 16949 or ISO 14001) preferred.
  • Basic knowledge in Chemistry is preferred.
  • Well trained in problem solving methodology. Experience of key issue problem resolving in previous job.
  • Perform reporting in EU SCIP database based on IMDS data information.
