We are currently seeking a Senior System Test Engineer to join our team in Weston, FL. In this role, you will lead and support system-level testing of current and next-generation medical devices within our Digital, Robotics, and Enabling Technologies (DRE) business. Your work will directly contribute to bringing new products to market that meet clinical needs and uphold the highest standards of quality and performance.
As a Senior System Test Engineer, you will apply core engineering principles across multiple disciplines to drive design verification activities. You will play a critical role in defining test strategies, executing protocols, and ensuring that our products meet technical specifications and regulatory requirements. What You Will Do
- You will lead system-level verification planning and execution for current and next-generation medical devices against requirements and regulatory expectations.
- You will define test strategies; author verification protocols, test cases, and summary reports with full requirements/risk traceability.
- You will design, develop, and qualify test setups/fixtures (SolidWorks) and automate measurements/controls (MATLAB, LabVIEW).
- You will set up, debug, and maintain complex test systems; coordinate feature integration with mechanical, electrical, software, and systems teams.
- You will conduct prototyping, bench testing, and engineering studies to assess performance, reliability, and usability.
- You will apply statistical methods (e.g., MSA, DOE, capability) using Minitab or similar; qualify measurement systems for accuracy, precision, and stability.
- You will document defects with clear reproduction steps; track and verify fixes to closure in designated defect tools.
- You will ensure compliance with design controls, change control, risk management, and applicable standards within the QMS.
- You will create and continuously improve System Test processes, tools, and templates to increase efficiency and coverage.
- You will exercise sound judgment and autonomy in problem-solving, prioritization, and test execution across multidisciplinary systems.
What You Need (Required)
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Biomedical, Electrical, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science or other related discipline.
- 2+ years of relevant experience.
Preferred Experience
- Strong technical writing for protocols, reports, work instructions, and procedures.
- Working knowledge of verification/validation, design controls, risk management, and change control in regulated product development (medical device experience a plus).
- Proficiency with test fixture/design tools (e.g., SolidWorks) and test automation/analysis tools (e.g., MATLAB, LabVIEW).
- Experience with statistical methods and tools (e.g., Minitab) including MSA, DOE, and capability analysis.
- Hands-on system/bench testing, complex test setup/debug, and defect tracking to closure.
- Demonstrated initiative, independence, attention to detail, and strong analytical problem-solving skills.
- Effective cross-functional communication and collaboration with mechanical, electrical, software, and systems teams.
