We support healthcare professionals by developing innovative medical technologies that improve clinical outcomes and enhance patient care. Our diverse portfolio includes solutions in reconstructive surgery, medical and surgical devices, neurotechnology, and spine.

We are currently seeking a System Test Engineer to join our team in Weston, FL. In this role, you will support system-level testing of current and next-generation medical devices within our Digital, Robotics, and Enabling Technologies (DRE) business. Your work will directly contribute to bringing new products to market that meet clinical needs and uphold the highest standards of quality and performance.

As a System Test Engineer, you will apply core engineering principles across multiple disciplines to drive design verification activities. You will play a critical role in defining test strategies, executing protocols, and ensuring that our products meet technical specifications and regulatory requirements. This role offers the opportunity to work in a dynamic, collaborative environment that values innovation, precision, and a commitment to improving patient outcomes.

Why This Role?

Start your career where engineering meets impact. In DRE System Test, you’ll learn how cutting-edge surgical robotics and medical devices are verified, validated, and prepared for real clinical use. You’ll build hands-on skills, contribute to meaningful test efforts from day one, and grow with mentors who will help you develop into a well-rounded medical device engineer.

Why Apply?

  • Real-world impact early. See your test work translate to safer, more reliable products used by clinicians and patients.
  • Learn by doing. Get hands-on with test systems, fixtures, protocols, and tools (SolidWorks, MATLAB, LabVIEW) while building strong fundamentals.
  • Cross-functional exposure. Collaborate with mechanical, electrical, software, and systems engineers across the full product lifecycle.
  • Structured growth. Develop core skills in verification, documentation, design controls, and problem solving—foundations for a long-term med-device career.
  • Mission-driven team. Join peers and mentors who care deeply about quality, collaboration, and improving patient outcomes.

What You Will Do

  • You will develop/execute system-level test plans, protocols, and reports aligned to requirements and regulatory standards.
  • You Will design/modify test components, fixtures, and benches; set up and debug complex test systems (SolidWorks, MATLAB, LabVIEW).
  • You will assist with prototyping, conduct bench testing, and summarize findings with clear recommendations.
  • You will analyze system/sub-system requirements for clarity and testability; contribute to test strategy and coverage.
  • You will partner with mechanical, electrical, software, and systems engineers to integrate features and deliver a tested product.
  • You will create clear bug reports, track issues in designated tools, verify fixes, and communicate status to stakeholders.
  • You will support root-cause analysis and corrective actions; perform Measurement System Analysis (MSA) to qualify measurement methods.
  • You will record testing activities to Quality Management System expectations; learn/apply design controls, change control, and risk management.

What You Need (Required)

  • Bachelor’s degree (B.S.) in Mechanical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science or other related discipline.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous internship in a related field preferred.
  • Strong technical writing skills for reports, work instructions, protocols, procedures, and correspondence; able to generate, follow, and explain detailed instructions and design parameters.
  • Understanding of statistical concepts and analyses; experience in qualification or validation studies preferred. Experience with new product development and design controls preferred.
  • Initiative, dependability, independence, motivation, and strong attention to detail with excellent analytical and problem-solving
