Job Description

The Nordstrom Market Strategy (NMS) Senior Manager, Transportation will be a member of the Last Mile Transportation team, leading the strategy and execution of the customer delivery experience and promise in top markets within the US. This is a key position in our Nordstrom Supply Chain team in a highly visible and strategic part of Nordstrom. As the NMS Senior Manager, you will develop and lead a team of associates with a passion for data, analytics, operations and process management.   Your ability to communicate and influence at all levels is critical to success.  The role requires a highly resourceful individual with strong emotional intelligence, self-motivation, and an understanding of how to drive transformation at scale.  You will participate as a valued member of the leadership team and provide input to key decisions related to customer delivery.

A day in the life…

  • Leadership through hiring, developing and setting the right vision. Create an environment that fosters engagement, transparency, and collaboration
  • Apply business acumen and analytical abilities to understand complex issues and provide solutions in the Transportation, Supply Chain and Logistics space
  • Manage complex operations and projects, exceeding expectations and delivering results
  • Make principled decisions under pressure and find the “right” path, particularly when there are different and competing points of view  
  • Develop and improve KPI’s to monitor and measure transportation carrier performance and contractual compliance
  • Collaborate with internal and external business partners to drive improvements
  • Communicate business objectives and results to a broader audience on a regular cadence
  • Ensure team members have access to learning and development opportunities for personal growth and succession planning
  • Identify trends for addressing changes in our business and finding the root cause in partnership with our operational stakeholders

You own this if you have…

  • Bachelor’s Degree in supply chain management or equivalent
  • 8+ years’ experience in Engineering/Operations/Distribution/Fulfillment, Program Management, and/or Logistics
  • Proven ability to problem-solve, drive change, and lead through influence and collaboration
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and make things happen in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • A willingness to partner across all dimensions of Nordstrom to influence, drive, and deliver change
  • Strong business acumen. Experience working with P&L data to drive bottom-line contributions
  • Strong verbal and written communications skills
  • Ability to travel 15% of the time; potential to increase based on business needs
  • Curiosity around new ways of working that will unlock potential for a team
  • Basic use of Tableau or other BI analytics software
  • Proven problem-solving and decision-making skills
  • Proven ability to drive and own complex business processed without the need for consistent direction

Pay Range Details

  • Pay offers are dependent on the location, as well as job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
$141,500.00 - $233,500.00 AnnualThis position may be eligible for performance-based incentives/bonuses.
