Our Military Aircraft Group East Aurora Operations team is looking to fill several Team Lead roles within our Machine Shop. These roles will be available on 1st, 2nd and 3rd shift and will report directly to the area Performance Leader.

The Team Lead position will have a variety of responsibilities, including:

  • Providing leadership and direct supervision to a small group of employees, within their specific machining or finishing discipline.
  • Supporting their area to achieve production and quality targets by:
  • Being the technical expert and guide for their specific machining, or finishing, discipline. 
  • Engaging with employees on the floor and understanding and escalating issues as needed. 
  • Leading activities to implement process improvements.
  • Developing and implementing training plans for employees.
  • Completing direct charging tasks, including running machines as needed.

To be considered for the Team Lead role, here’s what you’ll need to bring with you:

  • Technical Proficiency: Demonstrated advanced knowledge in area specific machining or finishing discipline, typically acquired through a minimum of 7 years relevant experience.
  • Adaptability and Change Leadership: Demonstrated ability to be flexible, and to lead others, through changing work environments.
  • Strong Problem-Solving Skills: Demonstrated ability to identify problems and work collaboratively with others to implement effective solutions.

As Team Lead, you will work directly with your Performance Leader to:

  • Support our talent strategy by identifying talent and skill needs, creating and deploying development plans for employees, and conducting an interview and selection process to hire external talent as needed.
  • Leading, and documenting, two-way performance feedback dialogue to coach, mentor and develop employees.
  • Review and approve employee timecards, and time off requests and trends.
  • Ensure effective training plans are created to onboard employees and further internal skillsets.
  • Maintain part flow and creating flexibility within the area.
  • Ensure OSV matrices are updated and accurate. 
  • Participate in daily PRB process to review potential non-conformance information.
  • Complete root cause corrective action on NCs where it is agreed that the root cause is human factors.
  • As WO's are put on 136REV shelves, review potential non-conformance information to ensure there is adequate information to enable next day review.
  • Audit production areas to ensure they are neatly organized and maintained to promote an efficient shop environment.
  • Drive actions to address current and potential KPI misses.
  • Lead the safety checks of the EHS 360 program.
  • Other duties as assigned, including at times, direct charging activities.

Salary Range Transparency:

Buffalo, NY $36.06–$43.27 Hourly

Actual salaries will vary depending on factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance. The range(s) listed is just one component of Moog's total compensation package for employees.
