Pay Range
$40.30 - $60.45Major Responsibilities:
- Able to perform all major job functions of Diagnostic Technologist for designated shift. Works daily as a part of the team, performing duties of a technologist while providing supervision for shift.
- Ensures all employees on shift are in compliance with all state, local and federal regulations as well as MCCG standards and Imaging protocols and procedures
- Provides leadership for shift, judging effectiveness of operation, utilization of personnel and supplies and general ethical and professional atmosphere.
- Maintains standards of performance for shift, suggesting updating standards as necessary to improve service line. Ensures employees on shift follow QA and Patient Safety guidelines. Monitors tech productivity for shift utilizing monthly reports. Utilizes progressive disciplinary action as needed.
- Responsible for managing resources appropriately for shifts, including supply management, overtime reductions and flex time for staffing when volume allows. Responsible for overtime justification and PRN utilization. Works closely with Diagnostic/VIR Manager to ensure Diagnostic Radiology has few, if any budget variances.
- Communicates appropriately and clearly to physician, staff and administration. Is designated PACS super user for shift to assist with house wide PACS needs, utilizing the on-call PACS person when appropriate. Acts as a liaison between ordering physician and radiologist when additional information is needed prior to or after an exam i.e., order clarification,, reasons for exam, etc. Is available to assist CT department with any problems that may arise in their area.
- Participates in interviewing and hiring technologist for shift utilizing peer panel interview process. Responsible for timely performance reviews for employees on shift. Responsible for all Time and Attendance records for each employee.
- Promotes intradepartmental and interdepartmental relationships Works closing with nursing units and other procedural areas to ensure quality patient services.
- Participates in performance improvement and CQI activities for Diagnostic Radiology involving staff as necessary to come up with ideas for process improvements and solutions to problems. Responsible for implementation of process improvement solutions on shift.
- Able to perform all major job functions of Diagnostic Technologist for designated shift. Works daily as a part of the team, performing duties of a technologist while providing supervision for shift.
Licensure, Registration, And/Or Certification Required:
Registered (current, valid) ARRT
Education Required:
Must be a High School or GED Diploma Graduate. Graduate of a JCERT approved School of Radiologic Technology.
Experience Required:
Minimum of three years of radiology experience preferred.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required:
Must be able to remain calm in stressful situations. Must display courtesy and empathy toward patients, co-workers and physicians. Must be able to make sound judgments and execute the appropriate actions based on the needs of patients and knowledge of departmental policies and procedures. Must have good communication skills and be discrete with confidential information.
Physical Requirements And Working Conditions:
Must be able to use visual acuity to see monitor screen, computer and hard copy materials. Must be able to hear and verbally communicate in person and over the phone or radio. Must be able to sit for prolonged periods of time (up to 2 hours). Must be able to comprehend and learn operation of various office equipment. Must have functional range of motion of the cervical, thoracic and lumbar spines, upper and lower extremities with a grip strength of 50-60# specific to job evaluation. Must be able to forward reach, overhead reach, bend, squat, kneel and apply proper body mechanics during the transfers and transport supplies and/or equipment using proper body mechanics. Must be able to lift up to 10# specific to job evaluation.
