As a Technical Director in our eclectic, pragmatic and passionate QLD Energy team, you'll guide purposeful work that supports the future of the energy sector. Collaborating with a diverse, multidisciplinary team, you’ll explore integrated solutions, offer thoughtful perspectives, and partner with clients to help them build a more sustainable world.
How will your ideas contribute to shaping what’s next?
As our new Technical Director, you’ll be a vital part of the team who are changing the way we design and deliver major works to be carbon neutral and sustainable. Your role will:
- Provide a wealth of experience and hands-on leadership, to grow the Power Generation team’s capacity and technical capability by motivating, coordinating and mentoring staff
- Provide leadership in building and maintaining relationships with our industry clients, from business development and securing a sustainable pipeline of work, through to proposal preparation and managing the financial and technical aspects in the delivery of small to large scale projects
- Have well-developed and strong communication and technical report writing skills, with the ability to present complex concepts to a diverse range of clients
- Work collaboratively across the business and with local and national clients, bringing diverse skillsets together through national and international work-sharing, and innovation to complex problems to successfully deliver projects
- Positive industry recognition in the field of Power Generation including active participation at industry technical events and conferences.
What are we looking for from you?
You’ll have a genuine passion for re-imagining problems and continuous learning to help shape the future.
As well as experience in a similar engineering role. You will have:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, electrical or mechanical engineering preferred
- 20+ years of industry experience, preferably in a consulting environment with a focus on thermal generation technologies
- Strong power generation background, with a deep understanding of the multidisciplinary design requirements and relevant standards, as well as experience with construction and operation practices
- Proven ability to lead and develop a service offering, lead projects as well as collaborate effectively with other professionals in the energy sector
- Chartered Professional Engineer and Registered Professional Engineer Queensland is required.
