Brandeis University is seeking a Multimedia Producer in Marketing and Communications department.The Multimedia Producer is a creative storyteller and collaborative partner who brings expertise in all aspects of visual content production. Combining the skills of producer, cinematographer, photographer, and editor, this multifaceted role develops compelling visual narratives that reflect Brandeis’ distinctive values — academic excellence, research innovation, social justice, and our vibrant, diverse community.

From concept to completion, the Multimedia Producer will participate in pre-production planning, capture dynamic imagery through photography and cinematography, and execute high-quality post-production editing to create assets that advance the university’s brand and engage audiences across platforms. 

Working within the marketing communications team, the Producer will create, distribute, and manage multimedia content for university-wide marketing initiatives — including videos, photos, graphics, and illustrations — to support campaigns, web content, social media, and digital storytelling.

The ideal candidate brings strong technical expertise in video and photography production, a sharp eye for visual composition, and the ability to adapt creative work to a variety of audiences and platforms. They will stay current with emerging production technologies, social media trends, and audience behaviors to enhance quality, streamline workflows, and expand Brandeis’ reach.

The Multimedia Producer will help tell Brandeis’ story in ways that inspire prospective students, engage alumni, and strengthen our connections with the broader community

Essential Functions:

Video (80%)

  • Serve as a video producer, producing high-quality, compelling multimedia assets that tell the Brandeis story and support institutional priorities. 
  • Together with the marketing communications team, execute all aspects of multimedia production, including scheduling, storyboarding, shooting, lighting, editing, and filing/tagging assets in the digital asset management system (DAM).
  • Collaborate with web/social teams, writers, designers, and other stakeholders to develop multimedia assets for use in digital, social, advertising, and event channels.

Still Photography (20%)

  • Execute all aspects of still photo production, including scheduling, storyboarding, shooting, lighting, editing, and filing/tagging assets in the digital asset management system (DAM).
  • Produce photography in alignment with, and support of brand messaging. 
  • Collaborate with web/social teams, writers, designers, and other stakeholders to develop still photo assets for use in digital, social, advertising, and print.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in film, media production, communications, or related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • 3–5 years of hands-on experience in video and photography production, including shooting, lighting, and editing.
  • Proficiency with industry-standard editing software (e.g., Adobe Premiere Pro, Photoshop, Lightroom, After Effects).
  • Strong understanding of visual storytelling, composition, and pacing for multiple platforms.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, meet deadlines, and work both independently and collaboratively.
  • Familiarity with digital asset management systems preferred.

Additional Information:

  • Must be able to stand or sit for long periods of time and have the stamina required for photography and video shoots.
  • This position requires regular on-campus presence (minimum 3 days per week) with some night and weekend work to cover key events and storytelling opportunities.
