Are you passionate about advancing science to make a meaningful impact on human health? As a Scientist in Cellular Immunology, you will play a key role in developing high parametric flow cytometry panels, operating and maintaining flow cytometry analyzers and sorters, developing and performing pre-clinical immunological assays, ensuring business needs are supported and technology platforms advanced. The role requires strong technical leadership, problem-solving skills, and ability to translate pre-clinical immunological insights into impactful discoveries. Key Responsibilities:
- Design, optimize, and implement high-parametric flow cytometry panels for deep immune profiling,
- Maintain, calibrate, and troubleshoot advanced flow cytometry analyzers (conventional and spectral) and sorters to ensure robust, high-quality data output.
- Develop and execute cell-based immunological pre-clinical assays to interrogate innate and adaptive immune responses.
- Show scientific and technical excellence in experimental design, data interpretation, and troubleshooting.
- Manage requests and usage of human biological samples across teams abiding to GSK and local regulations; work with human biological samples.
- Interact effectively with colleagues from other departments for technical and scientific matters to deliver on the team overall goals that will support the selection of novel vaccine candidates & platform technology development
- Timely and detailed documentation of experimental details, data analysis and data illustration
- Independently write specific technical sections of internal and external reports and scientific papers. Prepare detailed oral or written summaries of results with interpretation for projects/programs. Present and discuss results at internal and external meetings
- Basic Qualifications:
- We are seeking professionals with the following required skills and qualifications to help us achieve our goals:
- Degree in Immunology, Microbiology, Pharmaceutical Sciences, or a related scientific field.
- PhD with 0+ years of postdoctoral or job-related experience, MS with 4+ years of experience, or BS with 8+ years of experience.
- One or more years of experience in flow cytometry application, panel design and primary immune cell characterization
- One or more years of experience with cytometer operation, sorting, and troubleshooting (BD, Cytek, or comparable platforms)
- One or more years of experience in innate and adaptive immunity, including immune cell phenotyping and functional assays (with documented track record)
- Two or more years of experience with human cells/tissues preparation and culture in aseptic conditions
- Preferred Qualifications:
- If you have the following characteristics, it would be a plus:
- Previous work in infectious diseases, immunology and/or vaccines
- Advanced data science skills for large integrated data analysis
- Flow cytometry applied to clinical samples project management experience
- Prior experience in sorting primary cells or cell lines
- Advanced understanding of Flow Cytometer technology; Demonstrated capability to maintain and troubleshoot flow cytometry instruments
This role is on-site and based in the United States.
The annual base salary for new hires in this position ranges from $89,100 to $148,500 taking into account a number of factors including work location within the US market, the candidate’s skills, experience, education level and the market rate for the role. In addition, this position offers an annual bonus and eligibility to participate in our share based long term incentive program which is dependent on the level of the role. Available benefits include health care and other insurance benefits (for employee and family), retirement benefits, paid holidays, vacation, and paid caregiver/parental and medical leave.
