Customer Database Specialist (Kansas City, MO)

A Customer Database Specialist is responsible for meticulously reviewing and validating customer information to ensure its accuracy, authenticity, and compliance with company policies and industry regulations. This role involves a high degree of detail orientation, critical thinking, and communication to identify and resolve discrepancies, mitigate risk, and maintain data integrity. The specialist will work with a variety of documentation and systems to ensure all customer records are complete and verified.

Key Duties And Responsibilities:

  • Information Verification
  • Conduct thorough verification of customer data, including but not limited to addresses, contact information, tax information, and credit checks.
  • Utilize internal forms and direct communication with customers and other entities to authenticate information.
  • Perform due diligence on customer applications and documents to prevent fraudulent activities.
  • Database Management
  • Conduct annual reviews of key customers to ensure information is up to date and accurate.
  • Review existing customer files to ensure data on file is in line with current policies and procedures.
  • Communication
  • Collaborate with other internal teams, such as sales, parts, and service to resolve issues and streamline the verification process.
  • Communicate with customers in a professional and empathetic manner to request additional documentation or clarify discrepancies.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or equivalent is required; an Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree is a plus
  • 1-2 years experience in a role requiring data verification, fraud detection, customer service, or related field
  • Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
