Overview Of Position:
FEDITC is seeking an experienced Network Engineer V (Onsite Engineer Extreme Certified) to support the Defense Language Institute Foreign Language Center (DLIFLC) Academic Network Labor Contract, supporting approximately 5,751 military and federal civilian employees worldwide. The individual in this position will work on Extreme Networks, possess a combination of experience, skills, and qualifications.
This is an upcoming opportunity with a projected start date of 12 January 2026.
A United States Citizenship and an active Secret DoD Security Clearance is required to be considered for this position.
Background Investigation NAC initiated is required to be considered for this position.
Responsibilities:
Manage the day-to-day network infrastructure activities of contract execution. These activities include, but are not limited to:
- Providing on-call or after-hours support to restore data center functionality during unplanned outages or failures.
- Receiving inquiries, requests, and incident reports and then conduct incident resolution procedures while maintaining feedback to originating party.
- Providing services for configuring, operating, and maintaining network routers, switches, wireless access points, mobility controllers, VPN, firewall, network access control, radius servers, network UPS’s and software application appliances.
- Providing services for monitoring, documenting, and controlling the Academic Network
- performance for response, through put and availability.
- Identifying academic network improvements and enhancements by identifying opportunities and solutions for improving efficiencies with emerging technologies.
- Managing the Academic Network internet IP addressing schemes to ensure the maximum number of IP addresses are available to DLIFLC customers
- Configuring DNS filters IAW the latest Army and DoD standards.
- Managing the Cybersecurity Network and Boundary Defense, Intrusion Detection tools and Techniques and Incident Response on the Academic Network.
- Configuring network to prevent instances of malicious use of the commercial internet.
- Providing On-Site Engineer (OSE) Extreme Certified services for maintaining the reliability and security of the DLIFLC Network's voice, data, and wireless services.
- Acting as Senior Network Architect in design updates of the DLIFLC Network
- Project Manager for High priority Network projects using Extreme devices
- Tuning and optimization of Network devices including Extreme devices
Qualifications
Experience/Skills:
- VMware NSX: Install, Configure, Manage (V6.2)
- Ruckus Layer 2 Switches / Wireless Controller / Wireless Access Points
- Palo Alto Networks Firewall knowledge of PA-7050 / PA-3060 / PA-3260 / PA-5450 /WildFire/URL Filtering
- Brocade MPLS Implementation Layer 2 and Layer 3 switches
- Cisco Networks switches and routers
- Aruba Networks Excellent knowledge of Wireless Controllers / Access Points / Airwave / ClearPass
- Ciena 100G OME 6500 DWDM System
- Extreme Networks Layer 2/3, MLXE Switches /Extreme IQ / OSPF, BGP, and MPLS
- SolarWinds, InMon Sentinel, Uptrends
Education:
- BA/BS from an accredited college or university with a minimum of 5+ years’ experience or substitute with AA/AS with 7+ years’ experience
Certifications:
- Anyone of the following IAT Level II (CySA+, Security+, CND, or SSCP) Certification and CE/OS Certification
- CCNA Certification or equivalent required
Clearance:
- Active SECRET
- Favorable FBI Fingerprints with “No Record”
- Must be a US Citizen
