Education Support Traineeship | Special Needs School

About The Role

Working within a specialist school located in Melbourne’s Inner Northeast, this role will see the successful candidate working Parttime, Monday to Friday whilst completing a 12-month traineeship in Education Support.

Supported by qualified professionals, you will actively engage, assist and mentor students in secondary school, and provide support to teachers within a modern classroom with outstanding facilities and exceptional programs tailored to the student.

What you will be doing

• Complete training blocks within the school holidays
• Assist teachers in the planning of student routines
• Communicate tasks to students to support understanding
• Address immediate behavioral needs of students
• Other tasks as directed

What we are looking for

• Great communication, engaging personality and people skills
• Patience, compassion and the ability to stay calm under pressure
• Capable of providing physical and emotional support to students
• Passionate about education and completing a Cert III in Education Support
• Ability to complete training blocks within school holidays
• Current Working with Children’s Check or willing to obtain
• Willing to complete two-day volunteer trail
